This weekend, I hiked 11 miles in these boots through wet ravines, creek crossings, over rocks and roots, and along overgrown dirt trails. These provided me great traction, dry feet, plenty of support over uneven ground, and breathability in the heat. The soles are just firm enough to provide the support I need, yet flexible enough to keep each step natural. The shoe uppers is very soft, comfortable and lightweight. The boots really didn't need any breaking in before their first hike. I expected them to rub on the ankle bones like other mid-height boots I've used. But these felt incredibly comfortable the first time I wore them. This weekend, I noticed that my toes were sliding against the front of the shoes on steep downhills. However, I tightened the lacing when I stopped for lunch and I didn't have any problem the rest of the day. I was able to get these on sale at a great price. But even at full price, these are a great boot.

These shoes needed no breaking in. They were comfortable right out of the box. I bought the Moab 2 regular hiking shoes several months prior to these. I liked them, so bought these boots when they were on sale. These are my first Merrells, so I went to a local shoe store to try on different models. I'm glad I did, because the Moab 2 and 3 were the only ones that fit my feet well. My feet are a bit wide in the front and the other models were all too tight.

Shoes felt great. Unfortunately, I could not find my size. I first tried my shoe size 12W. Way too big, I could fit an entire finger behind my heel. Returned for a 10.5W (Amazon recommended a 10, not sure what they based it on). My toe came just to the edge of the shoe. When I went to try and return for an 11W, they didn't have my color listed for that size. When I had the shoes here to try on, they felt great. I do plan on buying them in my size and the color I want based on how they felt from trying them on.

Comfortable from first use, no break in required. Wore it in very wet conditions with slippery, muddy and rocky terrain. Kept my feet secure and dry. After 1+ week of continuous use in wet weather, my socks stared getting damp but not dripping wet. The shoe began to look a bit waterlogged as well. Quite heavy and not very comfortable on paved surfaces.

Moab shoes might be on the wider side. I bought a Wide version before and was too wide. The M size fits my feet just right, where I usually need a W on dress shoes. Used this pair on a Lake canoeing for 7 days: walk in water several times in moving rocks. This pair worked well by draining water properly. It doesn't dry quickly enough in the night, so a dry socks is highly anticipated.

I bought these as a replacement for some waterproof Lowa hiking boots I’ve had for 10 years. I was hoping to have a comfortable pair of boots for backpacking that would be quicker drying and breathe better. These are really comfortable, I took them on a five mile hike right out of the box and they fit great (12 in regular shoes, wore a 12 in these too). After 30 miles or so I like them but I expected better ventilation, my feet are pretty hot and stinky at the end of a long hike, not a problem I have with other boots usually. I was concerned before buying about the fabric lace loops as opposed to eyes in the boots, but they seem strong enough so far. Looking forward to many more miles in these.

Bought these for my husband to use for work. He is a cop and the boots they are given are super uncomfortable and hard to run in. These hiking boots have been a game changer for long nights at work, running after people, comfortability and overall look of black has been great!

Climbed a 14er in Colorado with these. Worked great on the DeCaLiBron loop. Their struggle was on descending scree, but my toes didn't pinch, so that's a solid win. Solid grip while hopping wet rocks. They don't breath great, but the one time I toe stepped into a creek, they didn't dump water onto my toes. I wore these through the airport, and they trucked on great.
