I have worn Merrill Moabs as my primary casual shoe as well as 3-season hiking shoe for the past 10 years. They provide good arch support, plenty of toe box room to wiggle my lower digits, and are tough and well made. Take care them and they will take care of you. I finally had to replace my old Moabs as the tred had worn down to a slick surface and there were holes worn through by the toes. I replaced them with the same exact shoe; so glad Merrill still makes them! The new pair are now my everyday pair, but I can’t bear to throw away my old ones, they are now my working-around-the-yard-and-shop shoes! My wife and son also wear Moabs and I see many people around town wearing Merrill Moabs; there must be a reason! ... show more

9EE / 9 wide. In Red Wing Heritage boots I wear 8.5 EE. In Nike I’m a 10. In Danner I’m a 9 EE. These fit great, like a sneaker. I’m hiking in Kauai and Maui, expect them to work well.

I bought this pair rigth before the pandemic started, so I didn't have time to use them until today... This is the fist time u use it.. It broke after one hour walking... And it wasn't even wet or difficult walk... Just plain simple terrain... You gotta be kidding me merrel!!! Worst part is that since I had not been ale to use before, now I have just lost my mi ey cause I can't return them.. Very disappointed. ... show more

I always buy Merrell hiking boots because they are the only ones that fit my feet right. I suffer from a degenerative neuromuscular disorder that causes my feet to change shape and they are mostly paralyzed. So finding the right kind of shoes to fit my feet is extremely important if I want to keep my feet. I don't let my disability stop me from hiking in the woods, although I'm not a professional hiker or anything like that. This is now the third pair of Merrell hiking boots that I bought. They are so comfortable from the time I take them out of the box that I don't even have to give them a whole lot of break-in time. I have wide feet and short toes if that is helpful to anybody, because most shoes out there are made for people with narrow feet and long toes. Those types of shoes just damage my feet. ... show more

Not the slightest bit waterproof, now I spent over $100, and my feet are soaking wet. Bought my son some new balance at an outlet mall for $50 and he stepped right in a creek, and kept dry socks!

I ordered a 9.5W hiking boot and it was too large. The company did a quick swap to a 9W and it fits much better. The shoes do run slightly large so would order 1/2 to 1 full size smaller than normal. These boots are probably one of the most comfortable hiking boots I have worn and the Achilles section of the boot is soft and padded. They have nice water resistance and dryout relatively quick. The tread provides good traction on muddy trails. Haven't forded any streams with them yet so not sure how long a full soaking would take to dry. When I need my next pair of hiking boots, I will most likely be picking up another pair of Moab 2s. ... show more
