  • Love my Merrell Moab 2 hiking shoes
Size: 11 Color: Walnut
I just love these hiking boots. Very light in weight, super tough in quality. I do 10 hour hikes through the mountains - taking me 6 miles deep into the wilderness (12 miles round trip). They are water resistant - very comfortable to wear. Love the color and they can take a beating - through some of the toughest terrain. After about 10 hours, my ankles will get tired BUT these boots keep your ankles secure from fatigue. I will always purchase Merrell from now on, as these are my first ones - to which there is no other to compare to. ... show more

  • No better available at any price!
Size: 10 Color: Earth
I know, the header sound like someone who just got there first pair of hikers. But no, I personally have or have had most every offering out there in heavy trail boots to UL trail runners. To the point, there’s a lot to be said about NON GTX hikers. Yes there is a place for GTX boots and shoes. But not nearly as many applications where your not better served with full on breathable foot wear. Quick wet & quick dry. This in place of hiking all day with your foot in a zip lock bag (GTX) full of water made from your own sweat. Now that you understand my logic. Why this boot or shoe? Simply put. It is very well designed. Made with quality materials. And well proven on trail, and the shoe per dollar invested is not a negative either. I will add that. I am not saying this is a great mood for the money. I hate it when people do that it leaves you wondering where it really fall in the spectrum of best to worst. This is a great boot at any price. I have Limmer‘s that cost over $1000 that I love. But I do not consider them any better of a boot for what they’re designed to do. Hope this is helpful, REP ... show more

  • Great Hiking Boot (Average 900 Miles per Pair)!!
Size: 10 Color: Walnut
I've been using Merrell Moab 2 Vent Mid for over 4 years. I purchase them 2 pairs at a time. I hike almost daily in Black Diamond Regional Park Antioch, Cal. (6-8 Miles daily). I can get between 800-900 miles hiking per pair. The boots are then retired to the back yard. My shoe size is 9, but I purchase size 10. I wear thick socks and my feet swell up a little. ... show more

  • Great 3/4 ankle boots for people with certain foot issues.
Size: 11.5 Color: Walnut
I have drop foot in my right leg, happened when I was a 25 yr old when my pelvis was broken and I wear an AFO inside the shoe to give my toes elevation and do not trip. You can't imagine the difficulty in finding shoes I can wear comfortably with such a condition. The shoes are either too narrow at the toe box and painfully squeeze my toes or two narrow in the center of the foot and the brace will not fit inside. Many times, when I cannot find a wide style shoe, I have to buy a half size or full size larger just to fit the brace and end up tripping often from the extra length. The last pair of boots I bought were Salomon XAforce which were $200 a few years back. Since they are 3 yrs old and a light coyote brown color they have become dingy. They are great boots, probably the best but I didn't have $220 to spend. I decided to give Merrell a try because my 77 yr old uncle, who is also well aware of a good boot from his days in Vietnam, had a pair on one day. After reading several positive reviews, I purchased. The Salomon XAs took at least 3 months to break in, they were so uncomfortable in the beginning but these Merrill boots were comfortable right out of the box it actually surprised me because that almost NEVER happens. My foot is very tender in spots and some days it can be painful just to put ON a shoe. My brace fit in with no modifying whatsoever and the toe box doesn't scrunch my toes and make it painful like some other boots can. Laced up nice and tight they feel great on my feet and I can wear them all day with bo problems, which I cannot do with just any ol shoe. The bottom sole grips snow and ice and I feel fairly confident I will not slip on my butt on the icy Colorado ground. I've only had them about 4 months but so far everything has held up and I've had no problems. They've become even more comfortable than my Salomons and I wear them just as much if not more. Only time will tell if they last as long. I'm glad I got these either way when comparing price and now I'm Merrell guy just as much as Salomon, thanks uncle! 👍🏻 ... show more

  • Going strong after 4 years
Size: 11 Color: Walnut
I recently figured it might be time for an upgrade to my hiking boots and found that these have lasted me 4 years of decent 3 season hiking. If you are looking for a dependable boot, this will fit the bill. Main reason I'm looking for another is that the sole/cushioning has started to wear down a bit and I'm starting to feel the rocks a bit more. I might look to get these resoled since there is nothing wrong with them other than the standard wear. ... show more

  • Can't beat Merrell
Size: 8.5 Color: Black Night
I got these a month before doing the Bataan Memorial Death March this year, 2023. A ruck march in the high desert, I carried 15 lbs or so this time. My other Merrell Moabs gave out about a year ago and I needed new boots. So I put it off until I could find the right Moab Vent models. I don't like waterproof boots and have used these Vents in multiple 6-14 hr events where we get in lakes, rivers, all sorts of water and I have never had an issue with my feet or these boots. They are Winners! I put about 30 miles at best, on them prior to Bataan which is a 26.2 miler in the high desert of New Mexico. Well, I finished the March, cut 1.5 hrs off my previous time and only had one little blister size of a thumbnail on one toe ( my fault really). I did wear Injini socks with wool padded socks over. I think my Merrells performed fabulousy! ... show more
