I got these and I was very excited to get a replacement hiking boot. These are high rated. Unfortunately these were too small. I ordered my normal shoe size, but for me that varies depending on what I'm wearing. Most of my boots are size 13, my Red Wing boots are size 14, most of my dress shoes and gym shoes are size 13, my Nike sneakers are size 14, Brands differ on the size I need. I gambled that a 13 would fit me, but it didn't fit. Too small. So I returned them, but Amazon didn't have a size 14, so I had to order direct from Merrell. Paid a lot more. These boots looked really nice, looked well made, looked very comfortable. They are very light weight compared to my Red Wing boots. Wish they would have fit! I went hiking in Red River Gorge and wore my heavy Red Wings again. Looking forward to my next hike and wearing my new light weight Merrell boots. ... show more

    • Perfect for an entire day on the trail!

No complaints at all about this shoe! I knew that I needed some new trail shoes for my day on the South Rim Trail at Big Bend National Park. This trail is 12.6 miles with an elevation gain of 2800 feet. Earthtrekkers.com rates it as strenuous. These shoes were delivered to me in time for only a couple of shorter walks. Nonetheless, they gave wonderful, comfortable support on all parts of the trail, including on the extremely rocky Boot Canyon portion of the hike. I'll be buying more of these! ... show more

    • Another great Merrell product for a long, wet hike

The media could not be loaded. I am a woman with big feet. Women's boots do not fit me well. I have been a fan of Merrell Moab Ventilators for more than a decade - I currently have a pair of mid-highs and low tops, which serve me well. I buy them in a men's size which comfortably fit my feet. I am not a fan of waterproof boots! I can't imagine walking miles and miles with moist feet. My Ventilators get wet but dry very fast so have never been a problem in wet, muddy weather. I had a long walk ahead of me - the Camino de Santiago de Campostelle in Spain but I feared that my good ol' Ventilators might not last the hundreds of miles. When these boots came on sale, I decided to give them a try. They were Merrells, which gave me confidence. They were a different color from my Ventilators so I would be able to tell these waterproofs from my other Merrells, also! These boots exceeded my expectations from day one. They fit very comfortably, even with the layers of socks I use to prevent blisters. They were water resistant, although not totally waterproof, which meant that, even in the worst downpours, of which there were MANY, on rocky, muddy trails, my feet were only slightly moist and the boots dried overnight. They did not show any wear and tear, and the Vibram soles did not slip (yes, I used hiking poles). They fit well, were breathable, yet kept my feet relatively dry under the worst conditions (the video does not do them justice). I still love my Ventilators and will use them until they wear out but these were a good investment for the rugged use I put them through. ... show more

    • Great shoe for what I needed

Bought these for use in the snow. Several days of use for hours in a few feet of fresh snow, and I never had wet or cold feet. Very impressed with the comfort of them too. I will use these for regular hikes as well, but I haven't yet.

    • Great shoe straight out the box

I had never done any backpacking before but ended up doing a 4 day trip through big bend with these. I was warned hiking shoes take time to break in, but these were amazing straight out of the box. 27 miles and 4 days later my feet were in perfect condition!

I put the Merrell boots on at first light, walk the woods in northern Michigan for an hour to exercise my dog. The boots don't come off until it's time to go to bed. Fantastic comfortable boots. you will need some Dr Scholls liners to provide a little cushion, but these are pretty impressive for the price, I have a lot of miles on them and they seem to be holding up well.
