Merrell shoes usually outlast my sons running and jumping, however the elastic broke on this most recent pair only 2 months after. It doesn’t bother my son and the shoe still stays put on his foot so it’s fine. Just disappointed with the quality on this shoe.

Excellent kid hiking shoes. Good grip and quality. Be aware, your kid my complain that the heel area is uncomfortable but give them 1 hour in them and they will fit better. My son whined and whined about a bump on the heel. After one hike-- he said they were the most comfortable shoes he had ever worn.
