I have been seeking decent shoes for like a decade now. Having issues with walking funny, which I didn't realize at first. Didn't actually have much of a problem until the cheapening of shoe making in 2008, when they fell apart once you put them on. I have been thru many brands. I think it helps that this shoe is more of a boot. I am a woman who wears size 5.5/6 shoe, and I got the size 4. I was able to break them in in a day- not sure if that's good or bad, so that's where the one star went. But I take 3 hr walks with a dog that pulls, so much better than the last several shoes I have tried (Sketchers, New Balance). Bought for water resistance, and they are definitely NOT. Otherwise a pretty good, comfortable hiking boot.
