    • 2.5 Stars Makes Good Coffee, Looks Nice But...
...lid doesn't stay closed. This is very dangerous. I even checked online to see if the lids on percolators like these were supposed to stay closed when pouring and it should be. That I did not expect or appreciate. A design flaw that could be easily fixed. On the plus side, this percolator makes excellent coffee. Very smooth and flavorful. See below for my instructions that worked really well.😁 **To make the equivalent of 2-3 large mugs: -Fill coffee pot to the 7 c. line shown inside the pot with cold , GOOD quality water. -Fill the coffee basket with 8 T. (measured) of fresh, coarsely ground coffee. Make sure it is coarse NOT fine. I use organic coffee beans. -I used no paper filter, that would be optional. -Put lid back on the coffee basket and on the coffee pot, reassemble the parts and place on an appropriate -sized burner. I use a regular electric coil- type stovetop. -Set heat to Med.-Low to begin. -As soon as the first couple of percs happen, turn down to LOW heat, just enough to keep percolating but NOT boiling, this is very important to prevent bitter tasting results. -Continue to percolate coffee for 10 minutes (or adjust time a bit up or down, to taste) . -Remove from heat.
