The media could not be loaded. Overall, the flute plays nicely. I've attached a video playing the Mendini by Cecilio Premium Grade Closed Hole C Flute. At first glance it is lovely. I bought the silver with gold keys version. I was surprised however, when one of the bars holding the top 2 keys started loosening up and almost falling off. I quickly grabbed my screw driver and was able to fix it and that is why I gave it 4-stars. The flute arrived quickly and with all the items promised.

i don't play but my wife dose i bought as a 22 year wedding anniversary gift she has not seen it yet but i did open it and put it togather it looks good i will up date this review when she gets it next month well my wife loved the flute she so surprised and she is hard to surprise i don't know much about flutes but it sounds good and my wife loves it so that's all that matters to me .

The media could not be loaded. The sound was OK for a kid flute when the keys were not sticking. They were all mushy and you could hear the mushy, sticky popping sound, when playing the flute upon release of the flute. I was disappointed, and I can imagine how dissapointed a kid would be, receiving this for a present for a holiday, and it doesn't play well. Or someone says they need to get it repaired by a local repair store, which a lot of small town rural communities may not have. Just because your school is small, and doesn't have a band, doesn't mean you cant learn to play a musical instrument. The help tutorials I looked up were recommending cigarette papers, which can't be bought by kids for cleaning the pads. I have asked for cigarette papers locally in the past and I can't find them here. I think the cigarette papers are recommended because they are thin, and wont ruin the pads. Everything was shoved in the flute case, which I thought would have ruinted the keys, being tucked in a very tight case to beging with. The case didn't align with the flute itself, so it was hard to get everything put back in the case, when I was re-packaging to send it back. Returning is very easy and nice with amazon partners. I am not met with a forced "store credit" like some local stores push here.

I specifically chose this instrument, instead of buying a flute that was cheaper but had open-holes, because the picture(s) on Amazon show this instrument to have a brilliant gold tone on the keys and on the crown of the head joint. Right out of the package I immediately noticed there is NO difference between the keys and the body of the instrument. However, it does play well. The joints seem to need a ton of cork grease (it is new and does come complete with everything you need). If you want an inexpensive flute that is new, works and plays well, then buy this. If you are seeking a flute with gold keys etc. then do NOT buy this flute.

I purchased this flute for my granddaughter, it arrived defective, 4 keys would not close, I asked for a replacement almost a month ago, and still no flute, I will be filing for a refund, I would not trust this company in the future..
