    • The Thompson Tee may be expensive, but it works better than expected.

I spent a fair amount of time looking into the Thompson Tee before making this purchase, I almost bought directly from their website but the most common complaint is that shipping is a nightmare. Ordering through Amazon meant paying a little more, but the tradeoff is that I got it the same day because of Prime and how early I placed my order. I run hot, always have. So wearing dress shirts in the summer is always a risk, but I tested this shirt on a 91-degree day in NYC and let me tell ya, it worked like a charm. I wore this for approximately 4 hours, I spent a fair amount of that time rushing around by foot, in direct sunlight. As soon as I got home, I went right to a mirror and checked, not a single damp spot anywhere to be found. The second time I wore it, temperature conditions were similar, a little cooler but fairly humid out. I wore it for approximately 10 hours and still, no sweat marks on my shirt. As for the fit; this is meant to be snug on your body as shown in the photo for the product. It takes some time to get used to but wasn't uncomfortable to wear. My one complaint (if it can even be considered one) is that I wish the v-neck was a little deeper. Currently, if you unbutton more than the top, the shirt will show. Minor but something to consider if you prefer to unbutton two or even three buttons. A simple solution would be to either change the current cut of the V so it is at least an inch deeper or to offer this in a deep v-neck. The price is a bit steep for an undershirt but it works for me and was worth the money invested. I will definitely be purchasing a few more of these but will most likely wait to see how this purchase holds up after a few washes. PS Read the care instructions carefully, this is an item that can't be bleached. ... show more

For 32 years I have been plagued with Hyperhidrosis. I sweat profusely under my arms. Thats the only place. I don't have B.O. so I have always considered myself lucky. I have been pretty good at hiding it by keeping my arms to my sides as much as possible. It has ruined multiple shirts, jackets suits etc. If I wear a suit jacket, I will sweat through the jacket. It is super embarrassing. I have tried prescription deodarant, I have shaved my underarms (I am a man), I have taped Maxi pads under my arms, The only option was either Botox injections or recently Mira dry which I could afford neither. (I guess I could have if I did flex spending etc., but I chose not too). Even though it has plagued me most of my adolescent/adult life, I was still super embarrassed. Fast forward to almost 3 weeks ago, October 1st. I ran across this T-shirt while looking into the Mira Dry procedure. I thought, what the hell, the reviews are good I'll give it a shot. WOW!!! What a LIFESAVER!!!! I bought 5 shirts. I wear an XL naturally. They fit very snug. I probably could have went with an XXL, but it is not uncomfortable. No sweat. 0. NONE! The underarms are very padded. They soak it up and it naturally evaporates. It will not stop sweat anywhere on the upper torso other than the underarms. I can now raise my arms and not have to worry about being embarrassed. Some people have complained about the padding under the arms. I can put up with that since they keep me dry. I even wore a jacket on a 65 degree day all day. I thought oh crap, I bet I am sweating through the shirt. Nope. Nothing!! Thank you Thompson for giving me my confidence back! ... show more

It does what it's job. Although the fit is very tight so if you don't like that, you should probably buy the "regular fit" or whatever the non slim version is. I personally like that it is tight and ordered another in a size small and I like the small size better than the medium in terms of fit. Heat is not an issue, I work and live in a cold environment/climate. Although it also does not add any warmth either so I wear a long sleeve undershirt also on days when it is windier. I'm 5 ft 11in, 135lbs for size reference. Like I said earlier I originally got a medium but when I got the small I like the fit a lot better, but I also like compression shirts so I don't mind tight fitting clothes as long as they are comfortable. The material these shirts are made out of is pretty nice too, it's super soft on the skin. Overall I'd recommend it. I now have 2 of them and if I could afford it I'd probably get 2 more. ... show more

The clothe feels very soft and the pads fit in the right spot to stop sweating, but the fit of the shirt is very tight. I got a large and it fits smaller than most medium shirts. Will have to size up one or maybe even two sizes.

For reference: I am 6’5, 200lbs and approx 42-44in chest. The slim fit, large is a perfect fit. Nice and fitted but not constricting. Just how I like it...there is no bunching of the undershirt beneath another shirt. Tucks in well. They seem to hold up well. I have owned one a year and wear weekly and wash hot...shirt has had little to know pilling, no loss of elasticity, and amazingly no pit stains like my cotton ones. If you are fair to medium complexion the light tan/nude color is perfect for wearing under light/white undershirts as it will blend with your skin tone and greatly diminish seeing the undershirt profile through the dress shirt. V-neck is deep enough that the shirt is not visible with a top button undone. Most importantly and why you’re likely interested in this shirt...zero embarrassing sweat through!!! I’ve come home after a stressful day/commute and the shirt is drenched inside the pit area like a soggy diaper (disgusting I know) but my dress shirt is still bone dry and fresh for another day of wear...score! The only slight downside imo is they wear a bit warm...upside maybe if you’re in a colder environment/office. Yes, they are stupid expensive but I feel they’re an indispensable part of my wardrobe now. ... show more
