We bought these about a year ago for colder months. They are soft, not in the same way as silk or the smooth/plush kind of fleece, but in a cozy old flannel shirt kind of way. The fitted sheet seemed small.. our mattress is basically just six inches of foam and it was a bit of a struggle to get the corners of the fitted sheet around them and it really smooshes them, so I can't see these fitting super well on a standard mattress, much less an extra thick one. The pillow cases that came with the queen set were pretty small too. But they are warm and cozy - we did like them. However, within a couple of months of using them, the fitted sheet developed a tear near the top of the bed, right between where my boyfriend and I sleep. I sewed it up and rotated it so that the tear was at the bottom of the bed, and it was fine for the rest of the cold months. However, I took them out again this year, and within a month of using them, the fitted sheet developed another tear near the top, right under where by boyfriend sleeps. I sewed it up but didn't bother rotating the sheet since there was also a patched tear at the other end. It held for a while but then ripped again, around the 'fixed' seam (I'm no expert sewer so I'm not really surprised..), but now there's just a huge hole in it, so time to get new sheets I guess. I'll be the first to admit that my boyfriend is Destroyer of Beds, but it's not like we wear jewelry or watches to bed, and we've never had sheets tear like this before. For $40+ I would have expected better quality from the get-go, and for them to last at least a little longer.. I have some amazing bamboo sheets from hotelsheetsdirect that are the same price and they are plenty big, have the nice inner flap in the pillow case to keep the pillow in, and have lasted (and seem like they will continue to last) much longer, they are just too silky/icy for cold months, but the point is I know I can expect better quality for $40. I did try to buy the Mellanni 100% cotton flannel *heavyweight* sheets, hoping they would be like these but sturdier, and they maybe do feel sturdier, but they are also not very soft/cozy, they feel more like a heavy linen than anything. Sooo I haven't really found anything better yet, but I think I'm going to pass on this brand from now on.

Where do I begin. I purchased these sheets because they are 100% cotton and I suffer from allergies, cotton is supposed to be hypoallergenic for the most part. When I received the sheets, I took them from the packaging and a strong odor of chemicals wafted out, smelled like chlorine or vinegar or something (maybe this is why there is a bold font label stating to wash before use). I did as directed and washed the entire set. After drying them, I noticed my lint filter was completely full, about 3 handfuls of densely packed grey lint. I wonder how much more lint it would have caught if I emptied it periodically throughout dry cycle. Anyway, as I put them on the bed, I noticed that the vinegar chemical smell was still there every time I moved the sheets it wafted at me. The first night I sneezed a few times, but I was very tired and managed to fall asleep quickly. I woke up the next morning with my sinuses completely closed, couldn't breathe from nose, and had to take a steam shower to clear everything up. I thought maybe I just needed to wash them again, so I did. Same thing, dryer catch 100% full of lint, and still smelled weird. The next night I wasn't as exhausted and didn't fall asleep quickly, this led to tossing and turning. Every time I moved, the sheets blasted whatever was causing the congestion at me. I even have a hepa purifier in my room that I actually had to angle to blow directly in my face in order to not sneeze constantly. I layed there for a couple hours sneezing and blowing my nose. It was late and I had to be up early so I eventually had to literally put on a 3m n95 particle mask that I use for vacuuming to be able to sleep. I slept in a mask meant to protect construction workers from literal asbestos to be able to get some rest using these sheets. If you are a person who isn't bothered by allergens/lint/whatever is in things like these sheets, you may be ok. If you're like me, I'd look elsewhere. That is all.
