This desk was easy to put together and seems to be good quality. I love that the top lifts up so that we can store away the many papers that my daughter hasn't finished yet. I first looked at some desks that had drawers, but they were all much larger. This fits better in the space we have, but it still has decent storage. I also like that there is a section at the back of the desk that does not lift up so that you can store items there. It took some measuring and searching, but I found some containers that fit along the back to hold her markers and crayons. For reference the back non-lifting section is around 21.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep (3.25 inches to the hinge in two places). I bought three organizers to put along the back to hold her markers and crayons. The media could not be loaded. This desk is awesome. It’s very sturdy. The lid has a soft close hing so little fingers don’t get pinched. I love the storage inside. It’s solid and real wood. We got a few pencil marks already. I used the eraser to remove them and some windex on a cloth. It came off completely. I think this desk will last.

I ordered this desk for my son since home schooling is the name of the game right now. It took a while to come, but that was to be expected. Once it did arrive I put it together and immediately noticed that the legs weren't exactly the same length so no matter where I put it the desk would wobble. OK so that can be easily fixed with a little something under a leg or two. Then I let my 5 year old start using it. With light pressure from him writing with a pencil on a sheet of paper there are deep scratches in the surface of the desk. The wood and finish are way too soft. Then today my wife opened the top and the bar that holds it open got stuck. She tried to gently shut it and the screws that hold that to the underside of the top ripped right out. This is all in the first week or having the desk. It is cheaply made and definitely not built to last. I would look elsewhere if you need a child's desk that you plan on actually using.

I just attempted to assemble this desk and chair for my granddaughter. I made the decision to purchase based on name recognition and reputation. But I was very disappointed. The pre-drilled holes for the chair do not align with the hardware provided. All but one of the pre-drilled holes is too large of a diameter - leaving the screws to just fall out time after time. One of the pre-drilled holes is too small of a diameter - leaving me no way to secure the screw. The desk assembly went well until I went to try to assemble the last leg - which could not be attached due to an extra piece of wood on the table which would have to be cut off with a saw in order to make room for the leg. I would appreciate being contacted to discuss my options after purchase. Thank you.

Overall loved the quality of the product which was very well and professionally packaged to avoid any harm during shipment. Loved: - Top of Desk, which is the table peace with lifting top. This comes all together as one peace. Meaning that the only assembly required is that of screwing in the four legs, which makes it ever so easy and headache free. - Also loved the chair which comes devided into 4 peaces: 2x side pieces, 1 x back support and 1 x seat peace. - Love the fact that all screws and pieces required for the assembly ( except for screw driver eventually) come sealed in a separate package, very neat. Disliked: One of the screws to attach one of the legs to the table is insane hard to screw in, so I had to leave that one for my husband to help out with some extra muscle power. But that’s that. For the rest an absolute awesome product. I bought it for my little 17 month baby girl, and it is perfect to last her at least a couple more years. I would say up till kinder garden. I am uploading a couple photos.

Perfect size for my 5 year old. Highly recommend. Looking for a small desk for my kindergartner to do homework and this is it. Fairly easy to put together, and like all M and D items, they make great quality products. The latch is slow moving so no issue re closing abruptly on fingers. The inside is big enough for coloring books, crayons, and just about any school related tools. It's also a very simple white desk - which can go with anything and be fully customizable if needed. My daughter loves it.

We love this little desk and chair set! Since Quarantine started and dreadful homeschooling i wanted a small writing area for my son in our downstairs area where he could work on school work close by me while I am doing other household duties. This desk has turned out better than I expected. It’s very sturdy and well made but light enough for me to easily move from room to room when I need too. All you need for assembly is a Philips screwdriver that is not included. The instructions were easy to read and the hardware was separated and labeled by steps. It took me about 30 minutes to put together. The desk lifts up and he stores his small laptop and notebooks inside with pencils etc. this is nice because it keeps these things safe from are dog who loves to literally eat his homework. The desk came very carefully packaged to keep it safe from damage during delivery. Melissa and Doug have always made quality products my family trust and affordable. Highly recommended product by a single busy mom.
