I bought another strap before this one, and it would take 5 minutes of wrestling with twisted straps if not longer. These meinl straps are EASY to get on, easy to adjust and sturdy. Very comfy. Great purchase.

I play the snare Caxia( snare drum) in a Samba Band, we step in unison when on a stage and frequently march in parades, just like a marching band. We didn’t have any straps that would hold my drum in a good position. It was always a fight. Another player brought this strap to help her carry a Surdo ( base) drum. It looked like it would work for me, so I tried it on and attached my Caxia drum to it. I had to adjust the straps a bit. And it worked perfectly, so when I got home I ordered it immediately. It arrived just in time for a performance that night! Now another drummer tried it for his drum and has ordered it as well. I don’t know about using it for a Djimbe drum, but for snare and base drums it’s works great for us. There is enough padding on the shoulder straps, to keep me comfortable while playing, enough strap length to put it in the right position. ... show more

    • Works well, but not necessarily for what I wanted.
Straps and hooks both work well, although I found that carrying a large surdo is problematic with this strap because it tends to bring the drum around to the center of your body and I need it to stay on one side of my body. I saw one review complaining about the strength of the hooks, but I have found they hold my 22" surdo just fine. So no problems with that (perhaps they fixed that issue). ... show more

Meinl doesn't disappoint with this strap. Very comfortable and easily adjustable to accomodate virtually any size needed.

    • It works.
It does the job. Definitely comfortable. Don't like the angle of the straps as it restricts the ways to approach the head. You can only rim play from 9 to 3 o'clock. I did wear it for half am hour with no real discomfort.

Good strap! Comfi. It is not 100% flexible becaues the hooks (i.e. carabiners) cannot freely move along the entire length of the strap but only under the buckle (used for shortening/lengthening the strap). But there are ways to get around that.
