This is synthetic paste wax for your car. It applies like your traditional carnauba wax. This package came with a foam applicator pad and a nice quality microfiber towel. I recommend a synthetic paste wax over a carnauba paste wax because of its durability. The application is a little bit easier and more forgiving. But, it will leave white residue on your black, plastic trim. Be careful when applying to avoid getting this on your black, plastic trim. Yes, carnauba has a small edge when it comes to appearance. But appearance should not be your primary concern for a vehicle that stays outside. A carnauba wax will not last long under the harsh rays of the sun. Notice how the wax on the roof and the hood of the car starts to lose their beading properties before the sides of the car? That's because the roof and the hood take the most abuse from the sun rays. The sun hits those areas squarely instead of in an angles, like the doors. The sunlight is the enemy of your car's exterior. A car that sits outside the garage or one that is exposed to the sunlight should be waxed with synthetic. I am not convinced that a thin layer of a sealant, whether natural or synthetic, can really block UV rays. Think of the sunblock for your skin. The material absorbs and bonds with your skin. How long does the protection last? An afternoon. A wax coating is probably thinner and it does not absorb into the clear coat of your car. The best way to protect the exterior of your car? Keep it indoor, in a garage. The second best? Get a car cover. Do not count on a wax, synthetic or carnauba, to block the sunlight. There is simply not enough material there to do that. But a good synthetic wax can still help with protection from dust, tree sap, and road grime. They do have value. This wax is best applied to a clean surface. So wash your car with something strong, like Turtle Wax Max Power, to prepare the surface. Clay the car if you have to. Although you should not clay the car often. Any time you slide something across the clear coat, scratches are made. Notice how the enthusiasts who wash, polish, buff, and wax their car often sometimes end up with matte looking paint within a short period of time? Too much rubbing, claying, buffing, and polishing will remove your clear coat. Removing scratches and swirl marks is done by removing clear coat material. The clear coat is what gives your car that glass-like finish. Remove the clear coat and you have a shiny, but matte finish. I guess it depends on what you value. Wash your car, apply this paste wax. Do not clay or polish the car during your regular maintenance wash. Just wash the car and apply a spray wax to help prolong the paste wax. I normally avoid paste wax. I mostly prefer spray waxes because you touch the paint less. Spraying the wax does not involve touching the paint. You make contact during cleaning, drying, and when removing the excess spray wax. That is three contacts. With paste, you will make at least four contacts with the paint. Cleaning, drying, applying, and removing the excess. That is four times, four opportunities to add scratches to the paint. But a spray wax does not last as long as a paste wax. There is that trade off. My advice is to use a paste wax occasionally, but not regularly. Use a good quality spray wax regularly and you will do your paint a favor. This is a good quality wax. It is one of the most durable out there. Yes, you will have to work harder during application and removal but the durability means you will only need to do this twice per year, if you keep your car under a garage. Use a mild car shampoo to avoid stripping the wax. You can spend more and get less quality. The smell is not bad but it is not what you could call pleasing. Not to me. But you know, it is really not a good idea to stick your nose too closely to these types of chemicals. Their aromatic chemicals can irritate your lungs. Highly recommended. Apply it thinly. Do not let it sit too long. Remove and then buff lightly. That is all there is to it.

I purchased this car wax for our brand new car. My husband wants the best for his car. He has always looked for the newest and best car wax to keep his car sealed and safe. This product delivers the maximum synthetic protection, durability, depth of color. The wax provides the protection our car needs from the sun and water. It was very easy to apply and he loved the results. With the first rain of the season we could see the water literally roll right off the car. We will be back to purchase when he runs out, but it does go a long long way so it will be a while before having to reorder, which is a great deal and buy all around. Thank you. Below is my rating on this product, I give it a 5 Stars. * 1 star (Nope, DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!): I would either return or throw away this product. It was a waste of my money and not functional.
