Update May 8, 2019: I contacted the company and they were kind enough to send me a replacement stating that the original product I received was defective. The openings on the bottom sleeve now line up perfectly. As I noted previously, the quality of the material and construction is very nice. There is some mild padding in parts of the case that provide a little extra cushion. The buttons holding the case together with the bottom sleeve snap firmly. This was actually another problem with the defective model I initially received. Now I am able to unsnap one button to open and let the case hang from the bottom sleeve without having the entire cover detach so easily from the sleeve-- makes taking a quick snapshot quite a bit easier. Overall, I am happy with the product and also appreciate the great customer service . Previous Review: Quality of the product is nice and it fits over the camera well. However, the openings on the bottom sleeve do not match up with the camera's battery compartment door and tripod thread as I believe is the intended purpose.

This product exceeded expectations. I had my doubts on the authenticity of the case being made of real leather, but I was pleasantly surprised! the quality of the leather is very nice, it is well crafted and fits perfectly to the camera. It feels really good to the touch as well. Highly recommend.

Since I spent so much on the actual Leica camera, I had little left over to buy the genuine cover and found this as a great value alternative at 1/5 the price. The images and description were clear and it seemed a nice alternative and for the price, I figured it was worth a try. And as it turned-out I was not disappointed. The fit, finish and quality of the case well exceeded my expectations considering the price and it even came with a pretty decent strap (with small leather protectors to keep the body of the camera from being marred by the attachment rings.) I have not had the case long enough to assess long-term durability but it does seem to be quite well made. So why only 4-stars? I had to remove one star because I think the way in which the upper portion of the cover removes for shooting could have been better thought through. Hard to describe here but there are two snaps that hold the upper portion of the cover to the lower. One of is larger and requires more force to remove (therefore it seems the intention is this is not regularly unsnapped) and the other is smaller and easy to remove. Unsnapping the smaller of the two snaps allows you to swing the upper cover out of the way to shoot, while not removing it entirely. Based on my preference, I wish the designers had reversed the order in that I would like the top cover to pivot from front to rear, and therefore hang down behind the camera rather than in front of it. Again, a bit hard to describe and it may just be my preference but I would have preferred it the other way. Still and all-in all, a great case that I would recommend.

This is my second Megagear case. I had previously purchased one for my Lumix ZS70. I actually purchased this case hoping it would fit my other Panasonic Lumix compact camera, the near-twin to the Leica D-Lux, the Lumix DC-LX100 II. To my delight it does indeed fit. The right side of the case (as you hold the camera with lens away from you, like you're taking a picture) has that little extra push out to fit the finger hold bump that you find on the LX100 but not on D-Lux. I was worried that the left end of the case might not fit well, as the D-Lux is slightly wider than the LX100 and has a rounded left end. While the case is a tiny tad looser on that end with the LX100 inside it, the difference is just a few millimeters. It's not a problem at all. I love the leather feel and the fact that I can leave a filter and lens cap on the front of the lens and everything still fits just fine. Try it, whichever camera you own, and you won't regret it!

Overall, very happy with the craftsmanship. Had been a bit reluctant to order the red, but was very happy as it was a more terra cotta shade (like a brick) that I loved. The Amazon product images helped immensely to get the straps attached correctly to the camera body. The extra padding to protect the screen was a great idea. The only downside, mentioned by other reviewers of megagear cases, is that the battery is hard to remove; though the memory card slips out easily. This was due to a faulty engineering calculation, IMHO. The leather case was cut perfectly to size for the battery opening. However, a metal lining was added, and that tiny bit of metal effectively prevents the battery from slipping out. So, the case must be removed to change batteries, which is sometimes a necessity when traveling and will mean sacrificing a few minutes. However, the battery can be charged by USB without removing the case. If the leather battery opening were cut a little deeper to allow for the added metal, then the design would be perfect. But if you can live with that, it is a great case.

The first one they sent me had the exact same problem. I asked for replacement then this is the result. Leather is fine, but a design/manufactural mistake ruined it. It’s gonna work if you make the opening just a little larger.

It was amazing, just as I read another's review, which indicated the camera case fit like a glove and was almost half the cost. Upon receiving the case; it does fit like a glove and the leather is perfect, snaps easily, closes nice on the camera. Very impressed, much more so than the Leica version ($150 - $160 pending color); and the way the camera hangs is just right. Again not like the Leica version, which hangs vertical instead of horizontal. Love the case, the lens cover does not get in the way, in fact you can let it hang by one snap. I don't understand why Leica makes their case like they do, it doesn't make sense especially for ease of use and overall cost. I highly recommend this product if you are looking at purchasing a Leica dlux. If you do enjoy!!
