I've had this item for several months now and it's done a wonderful job for me. Not only is it durable, it's been getting compliments as far as the look goes. The battery switch out has been completely fine. The item won't fit on a battery/grip extension unit but that's more heavy duty lifting. The shoulder strap was a little tight considering I'm of average build and size but not an issue for me - I like to know that my baby is snug to my chest. There are times I want to carry my camera in my traditional camera bag with other photo gear rather than the fancy Leica leather case. This half case is the perfect protection for the camera, and gives it a little old school class. Every time I pull it out someone asks if it's a film camera. The battery lid will not open up with the half case installed. The problem is that the case was not expertly trimmed to allow the door to fully open. To change battery’s ofpr to remove the Sd card the case must be unscrewed from the camera and taken off. The screw that attaches the case to the camera required a dime or penny to turn the screw. This is a time consuming effort and if the manufacturer had good quality control they would have corrected the problem. I knocked one star off and perhaps I should have taken Two Stars for this anoying detail! ... show more
