This building block set is divided into 8 different bags. Strangely they are used in groups of 2, so really 4 sets. The instructions are illustrated without words and indicate when to turn it around. This build brings Lapras to life and gives it personality that keeps the fun going. It was easy to follow for my 12 yr. old son, who is an experienced block builder. It provided a good challenge that took him more than an hour to complete. He really enjoyed the special action features included in the design. The neck turns as you twist the post. Lapras' fins also move easily when slid across a smooth surface creating a swimming effect. Lastly, it holds together well when played with. The media could not be loaded. I have a few Mega Blocks Pokemon in my collection, and they are all pretty simple builds. This one looked like a challenge to put together, but in the end I was super happy with the end product. I was actually quite impressed by the mechanical components on this Lapras, it's flippers move back and forth as it rolls across the ground, and you are able to twist and move the head with the cog on the back. You are also able to pose the ears, flippers, tail and mouth. It's a great size when completed. Probably about 8 inch tall and worthy of a front row spot on a shelf in your office or play room. It took me a couple of hours to build, and was a bit more complicated or challenging than some other mega blocks pokemon I've built. Im not super experienced with building with blocks, but have built a few different pokemon kits now, so I'm familiar with the process and how to read the directions. The instructions are pictures, break large pieces down into easy to understand steps and direct you through 2 small bags at a time to make the project more manageable. Because you do 2 bags at a time there are easy break points if you are working on this over the course of a few days or with a child with a shorter attention span. I found a few steps in the instructions to be difficult to figure out, so if this is a gift for a child make sure there is an adult near by to help out with the harder parts. Once built the piece is pretty bulky and durable, but the head is only held on by gravity and a small x shaped post so I don't recommended allowing littles to play with or rough house with the toy. You probably wouldn't want this anyhow because some of the pieces are quite small and have sharp corners. ... show more

This was a fun set for my 5 and 7 year olds to work together on. The Lapras is kind of a unique find for a Lego set so they were excited and the piece count was not too much.
