Description

Pit the veteran skill of Commander Zavala against the Siege Dancers' tank! Call on the iron will of a legendary Titan and defeat the enemy tank! When Commander Zavala's recon mission brings him face to face with a force of enemy Siege Dancers, he must summon his strength against three cabals and their Goliath Tank. Well... I spent 20 minutes apologizing to my son because there were so many missing pieces, he gave up just a few pages into the first booklet. Now I have to do a piece inventory and try to email customer service, and see if by some miracle or magic, I can get those pieces. Right now it’s sitting in a ziplock container.... Just skip this set. Stick with the other building block company. You know...the one with the movies. For $69.99 MSRP (currently hovering around $66-$67 price here at Amazon at the time of this writing), you will get Commander Zavala, a Cabal Phalanx from the Siege Dancers legion, two Cabal Psions from the same legion, and a Cabal Goliath Tank. The paint quality and detail on the minifigures are excellent, similar to the previous Fallen Walker set from the previous wave (also priced at $69.99 MSRP), though the Goliath does not come with any electronics. The tank itself is pretty good, though a bit scaled down compared to the in-game model (which is a bit larger), though the scale is close enough. The tank itself opens up to reveal seats for both Psions and the Phalanx (though the Phalanx's chest armor must be removed in order to properly seat the Phalanx and to allow the tank to be closed) The Phalanx chest armor can also be stored in the tank by placing it on a rack just behind the Psions' seats; the weapons and Phalanx shield however do not have a specific space for storage in the tank (though I believe that you can toss them in the tank and store them unsecured). The tank turret also has a hatch that can seat the Phalanx, though not fully) Commander Zavala's armor and gun are both coated in shiny paint; the Commander's armor is more metallic gray rather than silvery as the stock pictures show, but the details on the armor are great. Building the tank itself is not too complicated, but there are a lot of small parts involved, and some of the parts have very similar coloring or appearance which might cause a little confusion. Playability is pretty good as there are a lot of moving parts on tank such as the main turret, and they are relatively secure. Displayability is also great because of the details of the minifigures and the tank itself. Overall, its a good representation of the Goliath tank for the price. ... show more

    • Perfect buy at 33 dollars, One of the best mega blok sets I have built
I was worried since I had seen a review that said pieces were missing, but I have never experienced that with mega bloks (legos yes, but not mega bloks). I bought 2 sets and both had all pieces with some left over (quite typical for mega bloks, I have a box of spare pieces now) What makes this set so great was the fax that the tank is completely useable. My boys are playing with it like crazy and it doesn't have random pieces falling off all over the place. They love the figurines that come with and I will say that it is quite intense with all the moving parts on it. Like a previous reviewer said, "why haven't you bought this set yet?". I will have to completely concur. I normally only buy Halo sets, but as bungie designs are continuing into destiny, you can see it really coming out in these sets.     • Great set- marvelous figures
The set is much bigger than it appears- the tank is pretty big and the figures, without a doubt, take the cake- Commander Zavala is a must-have if you're a destiny fan, and you can never have enough enemies! Plus, these are quite unique from all other Mega Construx has made. Even if the tank is just for pieces to add to your brick bag/container (which is what I did), it is a worthy set.     • Psions, Zavala, a tank... who brings a tank to space? Awesome people. So you should buy one.
This is one of the cooler build sets they have made. Including Zavala is fantastic and the Psions are a first time appearance. The tank is pretty well designed with lots of points of articulation for the guns, thrusters, and the compartments. It really looks great and is nice addition to the line.

My teenager bought this for himself and he had no trouble putting it together. He’s a seasoned block builder...it would have taken me some time with no experience of my own. He loves them! Sturdy, posable for stop motion etc.

My son was so looking forward to getting this set. He was absolutely devastated when he opened it and the main figure (Goliath's) arm was already broken off. Very disappointed.

This is an excellent product. Much cheaper than Lego. The bags are not numbered so be ready for sorting quite a bit of pieces. The set came complete and the instructions are easy to follow. However, one of the long tile pieces came deformed. This was not an issue because their customer service is superb. I put my request for online for the deformed part and it was sent for free in less than a week. ... show more
