We have four of these now and I love them. You can adjust the height of all of the shelves so that it will fit your need. They arrive in sturdy boxes and each shelf and pole is individually wrapped to keep them from scuffing each other. We put heavy boxes on these shelves and they hold just fine. The casters are sturdy and two of them lock to keep your shelf from moving around when you don't want it to move. I do recommend having help to assemble. It is an easy assembly when you have two people, one person is going to get a little frustrated. It is possible but it will go a lot smoother with two people. I will probably order more of these shelves for our work shop. They are very versatile. I would also like to recommend the shelf liner. I purchased two sets of liners and they sit perfectly on the shelf preventing any small items from falling through the rack. ... show more

I got this to replace some shelving in my pantry. The wire shelving is very sturdy and the chrome finish looks very nice. For less than $100 it was a very good deal. Assembly was very easy, also. Ours is 6 years old and we’ve never had any problems. Should continue to last a long time. The engineering is kind of genius. A lot of shelves that you assemble, you have to screw pieces of the poles together where you’re left with a few points taking most of the load, leaving pressure points where it can break. But with this one, the connecting parts are made where the pieces slide into place, and the downward pressure of the weight of each shelf gives sturdiness to the segment beneath it, and it becomes even sturdier once you put something heavy on the shelf. And it does this evenly across the round base of each segment of the poles, so the weight is distributed well. I also found it straightforward to assemble. Worth noting: it would be very difficult to disassemble once made, so keep that in mind if for some reason you plan to break it back down again in the future. ... show more

The 345 lbs per shelf claim must have come from laboratory conditions with perfect monolithic test weights specially cast for the test, with technicians standing 50 ft. back, while holding their breath and clipboards. I would NEVER try to put anything like 345 lbs. on each shelf. Aside from that however, I think these are quite nicely made for "normal" household use (i.e. not holding V8 engines or cinderblocks). They are well engineered and assemble nicely. They are well finished too. Worth every penny. ... show more

I purchased this shelf for storage in a garage at a cabin. It was very easy to assemble and appears to be very sturdy. One of the long edges on one shelf unit was bent slightly. Not enough to affect the usage of the shelf. The shipping box was not damaged so I do not know how the shelf was bent. It will be fine for my purposes. This unit adds to my pantry storage, holding crockpots, bags of flour and baking utensils. It appears sturdy and is backed up to wall area, not freestanding. It was very easy to assemble, definitely the best directions I have ever seen ! Clearly marked diagram, and pieces so well marked that won't allow you to put it together wrong. I had to adjust the height spacing after assembly to customize for my needs and even that was easy! While the weight per shelf is rated for 250 lbs, I am no where near that limit, and expect unit to do just fine with the items I am storing. ... show more
