    • A Well Made Excellent Design Noble Brass-Cross Knightly Cuirass
I bought this cuirass because I like the cut of the cuirass (no, they are not all the same), and I really like the centrally placed brass cross. Very handsome! I intend to use this cuirass for my standing, complete suit of armor display. I believe it will look perfect with the cross of brass. I have other cuirass sets, and lots of other pieces of armor, all from mostly different makers. This brass-cross cuirass is nicely made; with good quality-leather straps and buckles; and well-attached to its place on the plate armor. The armor halves; breastplate and backplate are sturdy, and feel to me like 18-gage, though I forget from the item's listing description. The brass center-cross is just the perfect size and style to give the breastplate's appearance a noble, and knightly dignity. All of which works very well for the look I want my full suit of armor display, to have. If ever I wanted to actually wear this cuirass for any reason; it fits me very nicely. I am a 61 year-old guy with the inevitable middle-age spread, and this actually fits me well. Remember I wrote earlier that I liked the cut of this cuirass? (trade secret for us old larger-bellied fellas) I like breastplates that extend to just below the belly, a wee bit sub-navel). Like this breastplate; or the Spanish Conquistadores' style breastplate. More full types of chest/torso armor. Short chest armor, intended only for the upper-chest; or a full breastplate that is a bit high-cut, places a middle-aged knight in danger of that most dreaded armor malfunction of all: muffin-gut. (also called 'chub-chinks', or 'bellow's-bulge' on some western European battlefields of the late Middle Ages). My only caveat, (regarding this other-wise perfect brass-cross cuirass), are some possible fairly sharp edges and corners. As I mentioned, I have a lot of this type of medieval reproduction armor; and sharp edges and corners are very commonplace. I dull sharp edges and corners on all of my armor where nesscessary, which is easily done. I mention this just as a precaution to folks that may be new to the reproduction medieval plate-armor scene, or if buying this as a gift for older-children, pass the caution on. I am very pleased with this purchase, and the quick shipping, and an excellent price! I deem this beautiful cuirass: a full five stars. ... show more
