Overall, I feel like this product is a good product and just the idea and the execution are both positives. For me personally being a taller guy I thought this would be a more efficient way to hold the PS Portal, but the Gaming Pillow to me was way more soft than I'll probably would want and the PS Portal, even with everything tightened, kept falling down closer to the pillow when I was trying to use it. To me that kind of defeated the whole purpose of the Gaming Pillow because when I held the PS Portal by itself (with just my hands) the distance from my face was closer and just holding it was more comfortable for me personally than it was when attached to the Gaming Pillow. I also understand that it's $70 because you're pretty much investing in the Mechanism ecosystem, but for a cheaper price I may have been able to deal with the shortcomings of the Gaming Pillow for my personal usage for the PS Portal, but not for that price. ... show more

I suffer from shoulder pain that causes numbness when trying to use handheld gaming devices. So when I saw this go on sale I was excited to give it a try. The first day I mounted the Playstation Portal, it was impossible to keep the arm from falling due to the weight. I googled, watched some videos on the site that explained how to fix, and attempted to fix... after trying pry the sides open as in the video I gave up, they wouldn't budge, but that is when I learned the videos are outdated and was able to fix with a hex tool. Fixed, I tightened both arm and ball joint, I had it where it felt comfortable, so I went to remount the portal.. that is when I noticed the spring mechanism for the mount broke after ONE removal of the portal. The piece on the arm that mounts into the actual bracket is spring loaded, with a tiny piece of plastic that you "lock" so it doesn't pop out. The spring had fully extended and couldn't close it enough to mount it again. After I messed with it the spring finally collapsed enough to fit in the bracket, but then it wouldn't expand enough to stay locked in. Maybe I got a defective unit but for a device that has multiple mounts for different devices, I would assume it would last longer than one mount and dismount. This is going back to the company for a refund, while I know others had better luck than I, it still sucks. ... show more

I was skeptical about this at first. But after spending a week with it…. totally sold. If you play alot of games where you’re watching cutscenes, lifesaver. Or if you’re one to multitask great as well. Im typing this while I have mine in front of me. Make sure you get some universal grips if you want to keep your case on* Customer support was top notch with a question I had as well. Update: I use with the ROG ally as well no issues- saw the other reviews. Works just as good as with the portal. ... show more
