The cover I received did not have any problems with opening my computer all the way. This product fits very well. It is tough. The bottom legs hinge out from the bottom and are very tough and work very well. This is exactly what I was looking for to protect my new Dell XPS 13. UPDATE:.     • Have some sharp scissors handy...
There are almost no cover options available yet for the 2020 Dell XPS 13", so, out of the few, this looked like the best one. It does fit, and is very easy to pop on. The other reviewers are correct that it limits the screen to a 90 degree angle. However, I just used some really sharp shears and trimmed off the pieces of plastic that were keeping the hinges from expanding further (took a couple of rounds of cutting before there was no limitation on the hinges at all. Then I snipped the sharp edges where I cut, and good to go. Works perfectly now. I will say that it is more to protect the computer from scratches, and such, than it is for any sort of real protection. If you drop your computer, the case will likely come off. First off, they did fix the 90° opening problem. You know you've got the right model if there's a -21 on both the top and bottom case. (Picture above) Vents and ports are all accounted for including two cutouts for the mics at the very top. I do wish an additional two rubber feet were placed on the lift as there are cutouts for it but no rubber feet. One customer said laptop will have more heat build up which is a small given similar to if someone wears a shirt with holes in it vs someone not wearing a shirt. The cutout for the vents do stop about an inch and half from the ends but they try and make up for it with added holes on the bottom protector. (Picture above) The top protector is light enough where it doesn't pull or push my laptop screen down but this applies to the 9300. One customer said it does pull his laptop screen for the 9310 so possibly the different models are affected differently from the case. The laptop will close all the way if it's sitting how a normal laptop does sit. (picture above) The only time it doesn't is if you're placing it on its back hinge-like how I am in the picture. So it's not really a concern for me as it never sits in that position for myself. The plastic itself is technically a hardcover but is super thin and would probably crack or break if you were to drop your laptop. It clips on very easily and has no gaps when on the laptop which is something I really like since it's easy to remove if you wish to clean it and won't scratch the material on the laptop. ... show more

The bottom part of the case fit but very tightly while the top part was way too small to fit. I didn’t realize how the small the second part was and had already installed the bottom part. Not only did this take me a while to install but once I realized I was gonna need to return the whole item, the bottom part of the case was stuck and cause damage upon removal.     • It's "OKAY". Not perfect
It fit my 9300 perfect and while it does leave fingerprints/smudges as others have mentioned, that's not a problem for me. A few things to point out for others though. First, about 50% of the cooling vents on the bottom do get covered up. I've seen others comment on this and some have resolved it by cutting/clipping out some of the extra plastic covering the vents. I'm sure that would work. The next issue is the laptop doesn't' fully close due to the protruding clips used to secure the case to the laptop. Others have posted some pic's. It's kinda a nit-pick, but it was noticeable. Lastly, was an annoyance with the flip out's on the bottom of the case used to prop up the back of the laptop. When you do use them, the keyboard angle is too much/un-natural position, however, if I don't use the flip-outs, then the laptop "teeters" and wants to fall over backwards. The flip-outs add about a 1/4 inch or so to the bottom and then the additional weight of the top cover is just enough to make it want to tip over backwards. It's weird/hard to describe (sorry). Anyways, I suppose I could experiment and grind off the flip-outs/pads on the bottom - and clip out the vent holes. Seems like a lot to do for something that's new. I still give it 3 stars because it does fit well and it does look nice - even with the smudges and finger prints. For $20 it's an inexpensive way to protect my laptop. I guess because it has a free return policy, I would recommend it to others. The issues above might not be a concern for others, so you just have to try it and see if it works for you. ... show more

    • Wonderful case for college students and people on the go!
As someone who tends to be fairly clumsy, and also despises the silver color of my laptop, this case is absolutely perfect. The case itself isn't too bulky but it definitely protects the laptop. While it does cover some of the fans, I've never had to take the case off because of overheating, even when running demanding programs or games for hours on end. The case stays on very well and doesn't get in the way when typing. It even helps me open the laptop by giving me a ridge to hold onto. The stand is also a nice touch. This case is definitely worth the money and I'd recommend it to anyone who takes their laptop everywhere. I carry this thing across campus nearly every day and I've yet to damage my laptop because of it. It's very lightweigh and is a less bulky alternative to the big pouches I see some people use. ... show more
