The cue butt itself is nice. It has good weight, I like the design, it is a keeper. The only thing that worries me is the metal to wood joint (the butt has the metal threads, the shaft has a wood thread opening). I have begun to break the cue in, but I am getting a vibration at impact, and I don't particularly care for vibration like that when I shoot. It may go away as the cue gets worn in. I can easily remedy this with a replacement customized shaft, which is what I intend to do, but I'm picky like that. All in all I would say it's a good cue at a great price, I would recommend it for someone looking for their first quality cue. ... show more

Plays well has a nice feel and hit. Stick came straight and looks good. I liked it so much after using the cue I order a new higher end McDermott. Like the way they both feel when you hit the cue ball.

This is a surprisingly good cue for the price, one of the best cheap, imported cues I've used. It looks good, is well made and has a nice, solid hit when playing. Highly recommended for tight wads and rookies or anyone who needs a decent stick. When you're ready to upgrade simply buy a better shaft and send it all to McDermott, they will match the shaft to the butt and perform a number of other services/repairs for very reasonable prices.
