In my 20 years of basketball experience, I used to think sleeves were only used if you wanted to be more accurate with your shot, but I found out that they are actually used to protect from scratches you may get in a pickup game. Overall, this sleeve has provided me with protection I did not think I needed and fit perfectly so I did not have to stress about getting a blood clot from it being too tight. Can't give it less than 4 stars because the quality is good, and it is exactly what you'd expect. My only problem with this product is that I don't actually like using it. No matter how I wear it, it just feels too tight around my upper arm. And the restricted blood flow makes me feel weak after exercise. I was looking for protection for the Ulnar nerve in my elbow following surgery which did not go well. This protective pad is working better than all of the other protective pads I have tried. MOST important of all, the pain is reduced in my elbow. If this changes, I will come back and modify this review. It is flexible and bends with my arm and covers the right amount of area around my elbow. Some have covered too small of an area. I tried this particular type of protection because I have seen hockey players wear shirts with similar protection on top of the shoulders. If you know hockey, those players give and take a great many strong body checks without much sturdiness to their shoulder pads. This type of protection adds to it. ... show more

We thought it was a tendon thing but apparently it was a popped bursa on my elbow. He recommended wearing this for 6 weeks to prevent irritating it while it heals. Fit true to form, I ordered a second one in white.

Got these to protect my elbows while suffering from tendonitis. The hexagonal padding does a great job of molding to your elbow shape...a big plus over others! Be forewarned however, they are very long, I'm 6'6" with long arms, and the sleeve goes from my wrist to the top of my bicep. It can get a little uncomfortable on my upper arm, so like most guys wearing them, I tend to roll the top down an inch or two, then it's much more comfortable. My daughter is a setter and diving to the floor often. these protect her elbow, but she just wore the new pair we ordered to a camp and after day 2, they already have a hole in them. I just ordered 2 more. Wish I could find a brand with padding that held up better.
