    • The best compromise between lip balm and long-last lipstick

At first, I wasn't impressed. The name of this is Maybelline Super Stay 24. Maybe I'm dumb, but I presumed the "24" meant the lipstick lasted 24 hours. It so does not. But take out that "24". What you're left with is an easy to apply liquid lipstick. Wait a few minutes, and apply the built-in gloss for a superlative shine. This color will stay with you while you drink your breakfast coffee. Depending on what you have for lunch, the color may fade, but mostly on the lower lip. After lunch, brush your teeth (do NOT remove the lipstick), reapply the color, wait a few, then reapply the gloss. This stuff will last until the end of the work day and possibly even beyond. i find several things impressive about this lipstick: the number of colors, both matte and shimmer; the built-in gloss; the fact that the color is relatively "thin" so you don't have to take time to fully remove if you don't have to--just layer the color, wait a minute, apply the gloss and go. My favorite lip colors are the deep, dark reds, so my favorite one here is Optic Ruby. I have one in my bathroom and in my handbag. And the price is reasonable. In my opinion, Maybelline does a fine job of lipsticks. The closest rival to Super Stay 24 is Maybelline Matte Ink (Exhilarator and Voyager for the dark reds). I wore those colors for years before I retired because the color really did stay on forever, even through lunch. The only problem was my lips would sometimes become dry, and if I tried any kind of gloss, the lipstick would smear. So at this point in my life, this lippie is my favorite. Hope this helps. I have been using this product for years. As a nurse I stayed very busy and did not have time to keep reapplying lipstick. This lipstick stays on all day, even when eating. It feels smooth and goes on effortlessly. The clear cover also gives it a nice shine. It does not dry my lips. One tube of this can last me close to a year.     • Great reds, pinks and purples are just ok

Edit: I have now bought a total of 5 colors in this lipstain and can report that this is great for reds, but purples and pinks aren't so good. There is a science to making this stuff work better. You want to apply the moisturizer 30 minutes prior to applying, and then let the lipstick dry and reapply the moisturizer. I found that the pinks and purples just don't last super well. The reds, though, last through all eating and drinking activities I give them. So I can absolutely recommend this one for reds, but I can't for pinks and purples. I personally like NYX shine loud for those colors. Original review: Did I expect much from a cheaper brand? No. Did it surpass any expectation I had? Absolutely. I just ate and drank with this. It doesn't even feel like it's there, its 100% no transfer. I applied it, let it dry, and then applied the lip balm provide LIGHTLY, and it literally hasn't moved. I am speechless, because I literally just spent $24 on a tube from Sephora and it did not last like this did. I wish they had more fun colors (blues, greens, grays/blacks) but I will look no further for my reds/purples/pinks. ... show more

This brand stays on as it advertises; they have so many shades to choose from! I have spent a lot over the years trying to find a lipstick that won’t smudge, unsuccessfully . However Maybellin is the one! I’ve used it for several years now and I’m pleased with it.

I like the long lasting effects but it is drying out of your lips. It leaves my lips cracked and super dry. Like the bright color. Even with the lip moisturizer after a while of use it is dry. A nice color that has decent staying power. It doesn’t stay on for 24 hours but stays for about 8 hours. It moisturizes your lips.
