I cannot figure out how this is marketed as a lipstick - it's a translucent gel gloss. I have other lines of Maybelline matte liquid lipsticks that are super-long wearing and I adore them - but this ain't It. It doesn't set, it doesn't settle - it stays glossy and sticky and is definitely more of a thick lip gloss instead of a liquid lipstick. Much darker than I anticipated which is technically my bad. But this says liquid matte so I assumed it would dry matte and would be long lasting but this product doesn’t dry/set. It stays wet. Like a lipgloss. Also if you look at my picture there’s a spot that looks like I didn’t cover it. What happened was I went over it a few times and it kind of just pushed the gloss around but wouldn’t fill in. If I rub my lips together the pigment pushes around like the pigment is separating from the gloss base? Kind of like oil and water. I don’t understand. I will not repurchase. ... show more

    • Posessed Plum #50 - The perfect plum color lip stain
Size: 0.26 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: Possessed Plum
Great as a long lasting semi-sheer plum lip stain. The applicator isn’t good — ignore it and use a lip brush — it’ll make a world of difference (it should have been a brush, not a wand). Otherwise just put 3 dots on your lower lip and smooth it on with your finger. Do the same for the upper lip. It’s got a gel-like consistency. You can also use it as a sheer base for another color to deepen that color. Works great! In a pinch, it makes a gorgeous matching blush — just put a dot on the back of your hand, rub it with your finger to spread it into a thin layer and then apply. I bought several to set aside so I don’t run out of it. It’s a great color and at this point, my go-to. I keep one in my bag with a lip brush, concealer and an eyeliner. It’s also excellent to blend with another color. Blend it with #36 Rebel Red from the same Maybelline line and it makes a gorgeous, film noir, deep, plum-based crimson red. It’s worth noting that some people mention a fragrance in some shades, but I didn’t smell it in this or in Rebel Red. Others mentioned that they had a tingling sensation using lip glosses in this line, possibly from a reaction to something in the formula.     • The plum was so bad....

I'm used to a liquid lipstick giving even coverage and this was so far from what I got. The product might have been settled and it smelled kind of like old product, I should have checked if they even still made this anymore because MY GOD it's questionable. Going back to the coverage, it was very splotchy. I'll try to mix it up some more by just inserting and re-inserting the wand but it was so bad.... It was almost like paint that needed layers to cover and almost like a sheen a step from lip gloss. I was looking forward to trying the wicked berry color too, but I just don't think I will after this.... I wouldn't buy, plus the price was also questionable. So that should have been a red flag too. ... show more

One of two things....these items were either used and resold or they are old and being resold! The condition of the packaging is horrible...the bottles are scratched up and you can clearly see where a label has been removed from the darker one. As for the other one it has a double label and the label is fading out! If this was a new product or world not look like this! I've spent my money and I expect quality....if the packaging looks like this then imagine the outcome of it going on your lips....No Thanks..the seller will not be getting any more of my money......this product has been Trashed! ... show more

    • Different colors smell differently

I bought this in a very neutral red that almost matched my natural lip color and I liked it. It was just enough make up for a Zoom call, and relatively inexpensive. I don't know about durability because I don't need my makeup for more than a couple hours at most - sometimes for only half an hour at a time. I went back and bought a brighter color just to have some contrast. While the neutral color did not seem to have a scent the brighter bolder color has an unpleasant perfume-y smell to it. At first it surprised me so much I thought I must be smelling something else. Who ever heard of putting scent into lipstick? I love everything about this product --- the amazing creamy formula, the gorgeous stain, the incredibly vivid and bright Berry Boost color that pops and looks so pretty against my warm olive skintone, and I even love the surprisingly elegant scent. So why am I sending it back? Because it made my lips feel numb :O( And I can see, from reading the reviews, that I'm not the only one who experienced that.     • Not my cup of tea but great colors

This is my second vivid trial. I'm still really unsure about it. I love the color but it feels super heavy like syrup on the lips. I also need to reapply this product more than I'd prefer. Will I use it? Occasionally... But it won't be my go to. If you like thick glosses you'll like this. It really does have nice lustre but it's just not the best fit for me. There's also a bit of a perfumey odor I'm not keen on. I'll probably stick with the Maybelline super stay matte liquid lipsticks. ... show more
