It goes on light in color, so I had to buy quite a few to find the right shade for my light olive skin. Would sure save money and time if there were a little package of testers. But, other than that, I am so very pleased and amazed at how good this item works for my sun damaged, wrinkled, 78 year old skin on my face! I have a cleansing routine for day and one for night. So, my skin is prepared to receive makeup very well. I turn the top to get the color onto the sponge, dot my face from forehead to chin. And the important thing to know is to use face sponges to press the makeup into your skin. You can smooth it by hand and/or a Kabuki brush, but I found makeup sponges work wonderfully. Depending on the day and the amount I wish to cover, you can build with this makeup to achieve the desired coverage and effect. Honestly, I have been told since using this product, and no one quite understanding why, that all of a sudden I look 20 years younger. Layer to build if you wish, go light if you wish, this product gets it done. I started with 112, went to120, then 130, then to 150, and finally 210, which is a tiny bit too dark for "some days". With the exception of 112, I use them all according to the effect and coverage I want. They are not transparent, but a light texture and they do sponge on beautifully and evenly, cover very well, can stay light or go heavier, it's all up to you. I would suggest to use a "good" makeup set spray before going out. That will keep the look you achieved all day long. I have gone without the spray and this makeup stayed on and in place. I just really like the "set" feeling the spray gives my foundation and the rest of my makeup. I use green correction cream on trouble places like under the eyes, on dark spots, and sun damaged areas. This makeup glides right over that and sponges on perfectly. Yes, I am a forever fan and I highly recommend this product if you want stable, good, and smooth coverage without ever looking like your foundation is caked on, or if you don't want your makeup to be seen in those darn wrinkles! Use a makeup/face sponge. I love it!

This product is good. Feels lightweight with light to medium coverage. Might be buildable coverage if you let it dry and then reapply but I’m too impatient for that. I like to wear this on stay at home “no makeup “ makeup days. lol It goes on quick and easy and feels great. Tames the redness in my face just enough for me to look better with it than without it. Won’t be my go to for work or going out but as a teacher during the summer at home I use this a lot .

I am a huge fan of the Maybelline Age Rewind line and have so many different products that I am happy with so I assumed I would be very happy with this foundation as well. It looks just like the concealer in that it comes in a tube with a sponge tipped applicator and you twist the top to get the product to come up and onto the sponge. Naturally the tube for the foundation is larger and, thankfully, you can see how much foundation you have through the clear plastic of the tube. The sponge is quite soft and big although I don't use it for blending the foundation. I bought Creamy Beige 290 for my medium skin and it is almost a perfect match. I could probably have gone down one shade for an exact match but the color blends and doesn't look unnatural. The first time you use this foundation, you may have to twist the top several times to get the product on the sponge. I felt like I was twisting forever. Eventually I saw some of the foundation emerge. I applied it with the sponge and tried to blend it with the sponge but it was just looking streaky. It blended much better with my own foundation brush or even just my fingers. The foundation is very lightweight. It is light to light/medium coverage for me which I don't really mind. I don't need heavy foundations. However this one doesn't seem to even out my skintone well and it doesn't give my skin radiance like many of my other foundations. It sort of dulls my skin a bit. I feel like I need something just a tiny bit more substantial. My Revlon CC cream has more coverage and dewiness. Once applied, it looks matte and barely there and my other cosmetics work well with it whether they are from Maybelline or other brands. I did find that I looked washed out after several hours as though the foundation faded. With so many different foundations on the shelves today, I like to find ones that give my skin some glow, cover and look natural, and stay on without transferring. This foundation is nice and I will use it but I have many others that do a better job on my dry skin. This is one I use for casual everyday outings or for around the house with friends. I use a different foundation when I want my skin to look flawless (or as close to it as my skin can come) and dewy. Everyone has certain things they need from a foundation and I feel this one is fine but just not as good as so many others even ones by Maybelline like Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Radiant Firming Makeup. That one has everything I personally like in a foundation. This foundation has great reviews and may be perfect for you. I just feel there are better foundations for my skin type and my needs out there although I sill use this one for light, simple coverage.
