I enjoy the application, feel, & coverage of this foundation. Unfortunately for me, after about 5 hours (on a good day, most days less) the foundation oxidizes into a 2008 orange foundation. But I don’t believe it’s the foundations fault - it’s my skin chemistry & I’m working on using pH balancing products. Other than that, I would say with a great base, it looks very natural & lasts hours. I only experienced Cakeiness if I used too much setting powder - so now I just use liquid blush & setting spray! & it does not have a smell!

I always used NYX oil free makeup and it was ok but it looked heavy on my skin and it still didn’t cover the flaws? I felt like I would never find anything better UNTIL I tried this ! I read a lot of helpful reviews on this makeup and decided to try it ! WOW! Totally impressed with this and the color was a great match which NEVER happens when I buy makeup online ! This makeup looks dewy & natural without looking dry, heavy or greasy ! I totally love this !! I finally found a great makeup and I still can’t believe how great it has worked out ! I used to use this Maybelline matte foundation all through high school and about up to 24-25 years old. I’m talking years of only using this product + the Fit Me concealer to match, with no issues. I truly loved these products. I switched to Fenty Beauty’s matte Pro Filter foundation and used that for 3-4 years. I ran out of my Fenty foundation and, being on a budget, I reordered this tried and true Maybelline foundation again for a cheaper option until I can run to Ulta again and drop $40 on one foundation product. The difference in products is, sadly, glaringly obvious to me now. Even in high school, when my skin was at its worst, this product did not leave me feeling like an oil slick as soon as I applied it, but now at 28 years old, I immediately wanted to take it off after applying. I truly dislike how it feels on my skin. I remember this product being amazing for the price point and being a drug store foundation that was super popular, but now I’m dreading the next time I have to use it. After 2-3 hours of wear (literally just put it on for an 1 1/2 hour doctor’s appointment) I gently itched my face with the tip of my nail and the foundation is a little oily puddle under my nail. It’s so oily that even after applying my usual powder on top of the foundation to ‘set’ it, my hair would blow in the wind and my hair would get stuck to my cheek. Mind you I am NOT piling this stuff on! I just apply enough to get even coverage and cover redness/acne scars. Next time I’m going to try throwing a setting spray on top, and see if that helps set the foundation better, but I usually don’t have to use setting spray at all. I’m honestly shocked at the difference in products and this product used to be my go-to whenever I ran out of foundation. I can still use the concealer, ans have all these years, and it does not have this oily effect on me. I’m truly sad it’s not how I remember it! Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Fenty Beauty quality but dang! This is a huge difference and I’m not at all against drug store products, most of my products are under $15. I wonder if they changed the foundation formula, my skin changed in late-adulthood or I just truly never realized how oily this product is until I used something higher quality :(
