    • Good, buildable coverage that doesn't make me break out!

I had run out of the last foundation I had that worked well, but they had since changed their fprmula and I was breaking out like crazy any time I wore foundation. Cue the intense googling, article scouring, friend-interrogating process of trying to find something new that would work with my finicky, oily skin. Multiple sources RAVED about this product and I'll admit, I was really skepticle. But, for under $10, it was worth a shot. Choosing a color online was ridiculously hard, but I gave my best guesstimate based on other Maybelline products I've used and chose 120 Classic Ivory. The Pros: Good coverage, buildable if you use a sponge, and not cakey or powdery. I can't feel it on my face once it has dried. If I'm in a temp-controlled environment and resist touching my face it wears pretty well. I can also blend other products on top of it pretty well. The best is that my skin is finally happier! I do need to be sure to wash it off, but if I forget to for one day I'm not guaranteed a breakout. Cons: If you're used to a thick formula, this may seem a little watery, but it does build coverage well. It doesn't hold up very well to sweat/water, so you may want to use a setting spray if you're going to be without AC, working out, or in high humidity/the weather calls for rain. It isn't a "long wear" formula; for most people under "normal" conditions it'll be fine, but if you have a habit of touching your face, if you have puppies licking you, or if you fall asleep on a pile of fresh laundry out of the dryer (totally hypothetical), you'll need to touch up (and rewash said hypothetical laundry). As a person of color it is sometimes difficult to find the right fit for make-up products. This foundation is really good and works for my skin type. A little of this goes a long way. You have to be mindful not to apply too much of this on your brush, sponge, or fingertips. I normally wear a regular beige color like buff beige, but I actually got a tan going this year so needed a darker color. I’ve been using the fit me foundation as my “go to” for daytime use for about 3 years now. It’s very comparable to the more expensive brands but at a fraction of the price, and who doesn’t love high quality for a great deal? You do need to use a setting powder with this particular foundation because otherwise it will stay soft and or tacky on your skin. Use sparingly on your forehead otherwise it will look bad pancaky. It is buildable so if you feel it’s not covering your freckle or sun spot well enough just apply a little more on those spots OR dot with concealer, but make sure the first layer is dry first. I’m almost 50 yrs old and I don’t feel the need to build my foundation because with this one, after I apply my setting powder, that covers any spots that may have been visible. Here’s s tip: use your concealer AFTER your foundation, not before. I really like this product but I will tell you it’s not good for killer humid sweaty summer days. So no go for high temps: it basically melts on your face and you can’t wear sunglasses on a hot day with this. IS excellent for cold weather up to about 80 degrees. I picked color shade 130, what I thought was lighter than 220. But it is much darker on me and it looks too fake. I like the previous color I had for summer and the product itself, so I will try another shade.

Love this foundation. Been using it for YEARS. I was happy to get it quick and cheap here on Amazon but it showed up half opened and made a small but manageable mess. Maybe lost a couple days worth of foundation.
