May Arts makes some very nice ribbon. I used this black velvet ribbon to make a doll hat for my friend's 18 inch doll she was costuming. Worked nice. Polyester is stiffer than rayon or silk velvet, but more affordable and a lot easier to get!

This ribbon is perfect!! Gorgeous color and very sturdy. I used it to cover wallpaper seams in a nursery, I tacked it to the wall and pulled it tight with no issues or warping. The color is unbelievable!!! Very pleased!!
