I found that in and of itself it was too hard for me to use as a bed. However, there's a hack to get it right: just add a comfortable mattress topper into it. The nice thing about this is that it comes with a cover, so you can insert the topper inside of the cover. I'm currently using two different toppers, one 1.5inch and another 1 inch and it's fine for sleeping now. It's not as comfortable as an actual mattress but it's exactly what I wanted. I essentially wanted a glorified floor mat, something more comfortable than a yoga mat that can also be used for sleeping on as well, and now it works fine. I don't like regular mattresses because they are hard to move and they're almost too comfortable where you just lay in them all day. And it's hard to sit on regular mattresses as you work because you sink in too much. That's why floor mats shine.

Unfortunately my futon never fully expanded, when after leaving it to air out for several days. That has made it significantly more firm (with stronger indentations) then I would have liked. It is about 1.5 inches shorter then advertised. However, it's still pretty comfortable. The layers have stayed in place and haven't shifted at all, it's light enough for me to move around, and I love that it came with a cover to help keep it clean. I also appreciate that the materials are clearly listed, since not every shikibuton does so. Overall, considering this is definitely a budget futon, I think it's a reasonable quality for the price I paid. I am planning on getting either a second futon or mat to provide some additional support since it didn't expand fully, but that's easy enough. I will be looking at maxyoyo for the second futon since the stitching, construction, and overall materials seem to be good quality.

I bought this for help with pain. We sleep on the floor even though we have a bed. Our kiddos like to all sleep with us. This is a great up grade from sleeping on 4 comferters. I was hoping this would replace that. The folding up is semi easy BUT.... If you have limited space I would not recommend this. It does not fold up as small as you would imagine. We still haven't gotten a good spot to put it. Also the mattress has this bad smell. I have had it layed out and it still has this smell after a month. I read all the reviews before buying and the reason I bought this was mainly to sleep on something different. I'm not sure if I am sold on this item yet. I think if I didnt have to fold it EVERYDAY it wouldn't be so bad. I'm hoping the smell will eventually go away.

We had a recliner in the nursery where we would either rock or hold our infant back to sleep. Now that he's a toddler, it's getting a little snug and warm on the recliner. There was enough floor space in the room to lay down a full-sized floor mattress. This purchase was so worth the money! Now, when my toddler needs mama or papa to sleep with in the same room as him, there is enough room to comfortably and safely rest on the floor for all of us. You can roll/fold it to put it away. It comes with a belt to keep your rolled up mattress a bit tight while you try to slip it into the storage bag, but the storage bag already ripped when I first attempted to pack it in by myself. A full sized mattress has quite a bit of weight that it's tedious for one person my size to put away alone. So to tell you the truth, the mattress just stays on the floor in the nursery since we know it's pretty much going to be used daily. The next time I pack this mattress up will probably be when it's no longer needed in the nursery on an almost daily basis. Afterwards, we plan to use it for guests that need something more comfortable to lay on aside from the couch or the floor.

At first I bought this for the simple fact that it has a low profile, you can fold it up when not it use. In my current living situation, I don't have room for a bed, so this seemed like the perfect option. I also purchased a tatami mat, just as a barrier between the futon and the floor, and a buckwheat hull pillow. As suggested, I purchased the Amazon Basics twin size sheet set, the fitted sheet fits almost perfectly on this. At first, I was thinking maybe I had made a mistake, the first night was not great, as I had existing back and neck pain (It didn't help that I didn't let it expand for 3 days before use.) However, after some light stretching the pain subsided a bit. After about a week of use, I can confidently say most of my back pain is GONE. I was using a firmer memory foam mattress prior to this, and I remember waking up with back pain all the time. It takes a bit to get used to, but I don't remember tossing and turning much while using this. The other mattress I was using, I remember turning back and forth frequently throughout the night. I'm more of a side sleeper and I can confirm that this will work for that. I will say that the included "sack" for storage is complete garbage. It immediately started ripping when I first used it. I have switched to simply folding the futon in an s shape, which works perfectly fine. Also, the included straps are dangerous, the clasps are brittle, one snapped while I was cinching it and nearly took my eye out. The included dust cover is fine, I put it on, but still use a sheet. The dust cover is soft, but I could see through it, so it's potential to actually protect the futon is limited. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

My kids rather sleep on this than their own bed. It's really comfortable. Comes to use when I have guests or wanna have a movie date night with my husband. Our family really enjoy it. Not much I can say but you need to get one.
