Description

Designed for the 2008 Beijing games the dth is super light and accelerates like no other BMX tyre. Drop-the-hammer. The first few pedal strokes win the holes hot. The holes hot wins the race. Designed for the 2008 Beijing games, the foldable dth is super-light to accelerate like no other BMX tyre, yet holds up to the abuse you dish out. The dual-compound tread corners incomparably on hard-packed tracks and rolls fast on the straights. The gold medal is just a sprint away.- light weight race tyre- dual compound technology- silkworm protection silkworm technology is an exclusive material incorporated into the casing of select models, increasing puncture and tear resistance. Silkworm is featured under the tread as a breaker (denoted as silkworm)threads per inch (tpi)the number of threads that cross through one square inch of a single ply of the tire’ s casing. Lower TPI gives better puncture, cut and abrasion resistance but is heavier. Higher TPI conforms better to the terrain, offering a smoother, more comfortable ride while reducing the weight of the tire. MAXXIS TPI ratings are the threads-per-inch of a single casing ply, as compared to some competitor TPI ratings. Rubber compounds most important part of a tire is arguably the rubber compound within the tread. By changing the amounts of various components of the rubber formula, engineers can make two identical looking tires perform completely differently. This tyre uses; dual compound - two compounds used within the tread of select tired to offer lower rolling resistance and increased cornering grip. Foldable bead foldable beads keep the tire secured to the rim but are lighter weight than wire bead and easily transported. The bead is made of spun aramid or Kevlar; fibres

  • Smooth, solid, and great quality!
Size: 26x2.15 Color: Black
Installed onto my Slopestyle MTB (dirt jumper) for use in skateparks and dirt jumps/trails. They have a great tread pattern for low-resistance rolling on smooth, hard-packed surfaces while still offering decent grip on slightly loose dirt and gravel at moderate speeds. For me, they were quite difficult to install onto the rim even with proper tire lever tools, but your experience may vary based on your wheel's rim width. Overall a lightweight and effective tire for riding that isn't super aggressive. Worth the price! ... show more

  • Love these tires! Love these tires!
Size: 26x2.30 Color: Black
My 2021 Commencal Absolut runs great on these tires. It originally came with Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 26x2.1 which were fast rolling but they ended up getting some holes at the local jump spot. These roll quick, maybe not as fast.. it’s hard to tell though. I think Maxxis uses a grippier compound. Both felt equal in gravel, but my main use is on pump tracks, dirt jumps, and in the city streets and sidewalks, and I think these will perform better overall while being more durable. ... show more

  • the tire is awesome and I would never want to ride anything else
The ride is smooth, reliable, grippy on curves at 35 mph and downhills at 40+ mph. Loaded with saddlebags over 4-5 hour rides, I ride a hardtail mtn bike mostly on-road and wanted a tire that grips well with a minimum rolling resistance. I've put about 500 miles on the tires (front and back) with the pressure at about 60 lbs. For on-road riding or smooth decomposed granite trails, the tire is awesome and I would never want to ride anything else. However, for riding on loose dirt, you have to be really careful b/c these tires don't dig in for traction b/c of the lack of knobbies and things can get dicey if you try to turn quickly or go downhill on a shifty surface. ... show more

  • Stock tires that performed great for years on multiple terrains
Size: 26x2.30 Color: Black
These came stock on my old iZip electric beach cruiser and didn’t disappoint. Never punctured and excellent versatility, performance for years & years. Rode on gravel, asphalt, trails, rocks and sticks/weeds. There are probably better options for sure - but I simply knew 100% what I was getting here and didn’t want to experiment, spend time researching (aka lazy), with a new different tire. My other mountain bike suffered punctures multiple times with some more expensive knobby tires yet these Maxis DTH’s clearly out performed them. The original Maxis tires were still pretty good too even when I replaced them anyway with a new set. ... show more

  • Almost magical
Things gotta be magical to get a perfect rating from me. These tires are real close and I don't even have complaints. They are light, grip well and are super fast.

  • Awesome road tire for MTB
Was a tad worried that the 26x2.3 wouldn't fit on my Trek 6000 bike but they fit PERFECTLY. I am running a Fox 125 RLC in the front and no clearance issues with the fork. In the back I was worried it would clear the frame but they actually fit better than the 26x2.24 WTB Raptor tires I had on there previously. I am running SunRIngle Rhyno Lite XL rims and I needed the big tire to fit/look ok with those big DH rims. So far, they roll smooth and quiet and will help me put more energy into speed/endurance than howling down the pavement. ... show more

  • Great for time travel
Size: 26x2.15 Color: Black
I am probably on my 8-10th set. They are awesome for time travel and bmx. They are super light and accelerate to 88mph with no problem. The compound stays grippy even after traveling several decades. They are not effected by the flux capacitor and can be used on any surface. I use them for skateparks, dirt jumping and street and they are reliable and predictable. I also commute a lot of miles on them. One day I rode them for ten years. I do get flats from time to time but that’s part of the game. ... show more

  • Best tire ever
I already knew all about these tires when they released the 20 inch BMX version, so I kind of knew what to expect and they didn't let me down. Best tire ever! They're bigger than my old 2.0 (of course) but at the same time they're waaay lighter! And super easy to work with in case I get a flat tire, I don't even need tools to take them off the rims, I can do it by hand! ... show more
