As someone who dabbles in sewing here and there, I tried out this nylon spandex fabric, and it was great, meeting my expectations. The 4-way stretch is fantastic for activewear and swimsuits, giving the fabric flexibility without losing its shape. The vibrant red color doesn't fade after a wash, speaking to its durability. At 60 inches wide, you get plenty of material to work with. However, cutting it requires careful attention because the fabric can slip a bit. It may pose a slight challenge if you're new to sewing, but that may be because of my sewing skills. This matte nylon spandex fabric is very stretchy, soft, and surprisingly breathable. I love the quality of it. For myself, I liked that it was thin fabric as I needed something thin for my project needs. I did accidentally machine wash this and dried it and somehow it survived without any issues but I recommend hand washing it and letting it air dry so the fabric doesn’t get ruined. ... show more

I order most of my fabric online due to limited local availability. Four-way performance fabric is hard for me to find locally. This has excellent good four-way stretch. The thickness is on par with a thinner swim fabric. If sewing shorts or pants (something that needs to stretch through the bum, thigh, and crutch area) it will need either a lining or double-thickness of material. I have been sewing for many many years now and own a sewing and design business that specializes mostly in swimwear and dance wear. Milliskin is a fabric I have used often and generally, most fabric in this group are the same in terms of quality and stretch. The fabric I received today is no different. A pretty good quality yard of Milliskin fabric. Excellent stretch and recovery, great color (black) and excellent drape by nature. Caring for Milliskin fabric is pretty straightforward for long lasting garments, hand wash cold, don’t dry in the dryer, don’t use bleach nor fabric softeners, do not iron, and the garments you make should last for quite a while. This fabric will be quick to lose its elasticity if you throw it in the dryer at any heat temp. This milliskin fabric is excellent for swimwear and leotards; it’s light weight, has great 4 way stretch, recovers well and is form fitting when constructed correctly. I generally do not use milliskin without making a lining and in some cases an interlining. It’s very thin so use your best judgement in its applications. ... show more

I'm blessed to live near the nyc fabric district so I've got ready access so some of the biggest spandex suppliers in the country. This is good quality stretch fabric, but the price is 50% more than I'd expect to pay per yard locally based on thickness. You'd need to double line this if it's your shell fabric, it's quite thin. The convenience might be worth it, but I'd look for alternatives before paying this much. ... show more
