Great cover for upgrading/replacing on the Karl 3-seat sofa! Fabric has a nice stiffness to it, and the varigated thread scheme is nice. Love the blue color, it really pops! Assembly was easier then the default Ikea branded covers actually as the seams are much easier to get straight (they are more "invisible" in camparison to the OG). Disassebled and reassembled with an extra set of hands in an hour and 1/2 but we took our time, labeling the legs, vaccuming the frame, and reading instructions in reverse, then normally. Assmebly note: The cover has velcro in all the areas you need it. Our Karl did not have matching velcro in 2 spots (front/bottom) on the frame for whatever reason. It would have assembled exactally like the Ikea cover does, but I used a staplegun to attach 1-2" velcro strips to the frame in these spots to ensure it looked as neet as possible. Your Karl may not be like ours was, but I thought I would share our fix.

Okay, five stars right off the bat. It took a little getting used to, but I actually like the texture and feel of this compared to our old IKEA cover. Two of our cats have already started scratching at it, so I definitely think they add catnip to it (I'M KIDDING). From other reviews on here, we were worried we'd run into an issue. It was way easier to put on than the original covers we had. BUT... I will say that both arms had a little extra fabric than necessary which kind of hanged off on the bottom. One side wasn't that bad, but the other side we had to use a staple gun to keep our cats from potentially snagging it when diving under the couch. PROTIP: When you first sit on it, you might hear the velcro un-velcro-ing(??) on the main part of the couch, at the seam from seat to back. I actually don't remember the original covers having that strip there, but the sound happened for like a day or two maybe, and I just honestly don't remember when it stopped, but we haven't heard it again. PROTIP #2: If you put those fuzzy anti-scratch pads on the bottoms of the legs, you're gonna need a hair dryer or heat gun, an exacto knife (the blade is gonna be wrecked after), and patience. Cause if you remember back to 10 years ago when you got this couch, the screws for the legs are inside the legs under the fuzzy pads. (Also, have four extra fuzzy pads on-hand.)

I was really happy to see that this fabric is very similar to the original Karlstad that I bought in 2013. It’s got a great tweed-like texture which also means it’s not as soft as plain cotton. The tan color does have streaks of grey and is not as true tan in the stock photos. But it’s still a really nice color. The zippers and Velcro are all good quality. Stitching looks good too. I also included a photo of the tools that I used to take apart the sofa which you have to do to get the cover on. To get the best fit you have to remove the legs too. Karlstad covers were always tight to put on and this one is just the same. Takes patience and better with 2 people to really pull the fabric in the right place. Also don’t firmly attach the Velcro until you have the cover positioned right. Just lightly press in to hold it in place while you adjust. I was able to get most of the pieces into the right fit but on one arm I could not get it as shown in photos. Not sure if that’s me or the fabric is too short. I’m pretty sure I would buy this in another color.

Extremely disappointed to have spent the better part of an hour disassembling my 2009 Karlstad sofa to find that this cover does not fit the sides, see photos. The main section cover was a little long but would have worked once the sides were reattached - but that is a moot point since the sides don’t work. My old worn cover will look better than this ill-fitting replacement. It is being returned.

Very accurate to the official cover. Includes zippers which other off brands do not. Looks and feels great. Only complaint is perhaps the snug fit version might be a tad too snug and makes the couch feel stiffer? Getting the cover on was far more difficult than the original and leaves some tiny exposed spots near the underside corners, since part of the couch doesn’t have Velcro where the cover thinks it does. But after some finagling I got it to where it looks great. But perhaps if I were to buy it again I wouldn’t buy the snug version? Great cover overall though

Our Karlstad couch is old. Our cat scratched it up the first day we got it and then left it alone after that. However, the damage was done. We lived with a shredded-up couch for nearly 14 years. We love our couch and didn't want to put the money in to get a new one. I ordered the covers from here but they didn't offer the chaise part. I got in touch with the company and they checked to see if the colors would match if I ordered the chaise from their site (the prices on their site are more expensive). However, it wasn't a match. I had to return my Amazon purchase and ordered the whole set directly from the vendor. The fabric is a little bit scratchy but it's not a big deal to me. These covers will buy Karl more time in our home. I also liked how responsive the company was. ALSO, once you wash them, they will shrink down to fit better.

After browsing a ton of expensive couch options then having concerns about our kids messing it up, we opted to keep our old Karlstad couch and get it a new cover. The color was a lot warmer in person than we had imagined but it worked out ok. We have washed the cushion covers several times already due to food spills and they have held up great. The cover is a lot thicker than the blue/gray cover we purchased directly from ikea several years ago but softer than the rough cream color that the couch originally came with. Highly recommended purchase!

We have two set of ikea couch, going strong for almost 14 years. Since ikea discontinued selling extra covers, I looked into Amazon. I’ve requested fabric samples from a well known cover maker but ended up getting these for the price. They are sturdy, snug fitting like the original, and the fabric is close to the original also. The couch looks brand new again and saved us from spending more!
