We were renting a uHaul for a week trip and I wanted to secure the trailer so I could disconnect and leave while we were out and about. This was a low cost, great solution. Gave me peace of mind that it would deter theft and was easy to use. Only potential issue is you can tell it is low cost, the keys are kinda like the daughters first diary level quality (not robust) and I'm not sure I'd trust it to stay outdoors in the elements long term as it'd probably rust. Had to order a 2nd one only because I left my last one on the rear bumper and dropped off somewhere. Got the same one because my last one was over 3 yrs old and never had a problem with it. Even in subzero temps with ice and snow it never seized up. Well worth the money.

The steel pin and the cylinder lock are not substantial to stop theft. But provides theft deterrence from crimes of opportunity, e.g. thief needs to have tools handy to easily defeat this lock.
