brand new out of box, would not ignite, tried multiple fuel brands and levels, ensured it would spark and that there was no obstruction, leaked down completely within 2 hours. literally any other brand of iron would be better. harbor freight has one for a quarter of the cost that lasted over a year or heavy use. Been using it for awile know and haven't had any problems with it, the gas is a pain to get into it and while doing so you loose some.

Heat up fast, weld very good, but too much power for me. In my opinion it is a good solder, having 5 adapters, a way to suspend it while is hot, a cover, a concentrator for heat shrink, is what I like, I use too work as Avionics, and the way to work on airplanes on the ramp is with gas solder, plus the concentrator, you got it all for repair, solder wires or terminals. The down side is the flame controller, iit is too much, and the minimum setting still too hot. That may be a matter of adjusting the position of the adjusting ring of the valve, but the screw is too tight to loose it, so I end up expanding the cutout to let the controller close the valve better. No big deal. Over all I will recommend it. ... show more

filled it up and could not get it to light, when i finally got it to light it would not get hot enough to melt solder. piece of crap and sending it back.

The best! I used to think weller portosol was the best but no way. Totally recommend this torch. The other brands including the expensive ones are not even close to the quality of this tool. Precision machined parts that are heavy. No junk

The heater to do heat shrink or the new types of crimp less wire connections is not strong enough to get the job done . even after I cleaned the unit completely . The one I purchased had either manufacturing debris or just junk covering the inner orifices , not allowing the heat from the gas to flow through the tips and blow tubes. ... show more
