I used these to clamp some 3/4" plywood together. I didn't tighten them any more than I would any clamp, but they wouldn't release. It was like the lever was too weak or didn't have enough travel. I had to loosen the adjustment knob with pliers to get them to loosen up enough to release. I've never had that happen with any other clamp. They looked fairly stout on first glance, but they ain't.

These clamps work as advertised. They feel solid. Adjust them based on the thickness of the objects (wood in my case). If all objects to be clamped are the same thickness you only need to adjust the clamp strength once. Only issue, make sure you have some lube for the swivel pads. The swivel pads were stuck in place when they arrived. I picked up two with a pocket jig.
