I never formally learned to play an instrument. Nor have I learned to read music. But I have played around with a few instruments over the years and sung in a couple of choirs. I learned to play the basic Chopsticks and Mary Had A Little Lamb when I was very young and haven’t been near a piano since. My point is that this MARVTOWN PORTABLE FOLDING KEYBOARD is appropriate and enjoyable for everyone who is interested in playing the piano, whether your goal is to learn how to play, to entertain others, or to write your own music. This is a truly equal opportunity keyboard with a range of functions for tailoring and adjusting the sound to make music that matches your style. While I am sure you can buy keyboards with many more options, this keyboard will not overwhelm new players. It gives a good foundation of options that include learning mode, rhythm, and a metronome, among others. I was able to set the keyboard up in a narrow space between the family room and dining room. It is compact, and setup is super easy. It basically just unfolds. A nylon carry bag came with it, which is great for portability. There are stickers you can put on the piano keys to help new players learn notes. I was able to play at least an hour a day for a week before I even needed to charge the keyboard. That bodes well for outside venues, and a full charge should get you through even the longest jam session. There are multiple hookups in the back of the keyboard for speakers, microphones, recording devices and anything that will hook up via USB or Bluetooth. This is a good quality, well-rounded keyboard that has many options and is versatile enough to meet the needs of piano players with varying skill levels and a variety of styles. If you want a keyboard for any reason, this is well made and may very well be able to meet your specific needs, whatever they may be. It is definitely worth considering and something the entire family would enjoy. I downloaded some lesson plans but have mostly been trying to learn to play the folk songs I love and grew up with. I try to play by ear. Then I go online to watch a professional play my song to see where I got it wrong! I am getting better, even if the dog is still howling in protest; he's a harsh critic. For me, it is just fun. I think this is a really good value at the current price of $119.00. It is sure to bring hours of enjoyment to anyone who loves music, whether making it or listening to it. ... show more

This is a great product--my husband has been having a lot of fun playing with the different tones, especially when he plays songs from video games. The sound quality is quite good and I love that you can put in headphones so that the whole house doesn't need to hear him practice. It is super easy to stow, which has been great since my husband likes to play for stress relief but we take trips away from our home/piano often. I’m not super impressed with this. The speaker sound is weird, I like the options for tone but it’s not convenient to have to scroll through them all. I know it was reasonably priced but we’ve had better cheap keyboards in the past.
