  • Love this! Unique in every way!
Such an awesome marvel strategy, role-playing game. Unique in many ways from other marvel games. Marvel Midnight Suns is on a level all its own!

  • Pretty fun game that lasts long enough.
I've had great fun with Midnight suns, it has a good choice of heroes, some you might expect but also some other unexpected, but cool ones, at least for me. The gameplay is good, aside from some DS games this is my first time playing a card/strategy game so I think it is an appropriate introductory game. It is a 4 star product because I believe it lacks some polishing in some places. Sometimes textures take to much to load properly, face models, specially the protagonist could use some work and finally, when using fast travel the characters are floating and drop to the ground because of gravity. In conclusion, I had a lots of fun for at least 20 hours, but it is not the prettiest game out there. For this price I can't recommend it enough. ... show more

  • Surprisingly fun game
I held off on buying this game after the Avengers game was a dumpster fire. This one was actually really fun, and I kinda wish I had bought it sooner. It's a turn based RPG, like FF Tactics, Skulls of the Shogun, or XCom. The actual battles are a lot more fun than any of those though. The acting, dialogue, and graphics are all not great; which is another reason I did not originally buy it. None of that detracted from my enjoyment once I got sucked into the combat. ... show more

  • Surprising Amount of Depth
I originally borrowed a copy of this game from my local library thinking I wouldn't like it because of the card based battle system, but I was wrong. It's not a typical deck builder and somehow manages to feel like a superhero game despite the fact that it is turn based. Strategy in this game goes beyond the abilities the player brings into battle as the environment also plays a large role in gameplay. It takes a little time to master the battle system, but I found it was a lot of fun once I did. There is also a lot of depth to the story and characters that leads to the feeling you are actually building a relationship with each hero you meet throughout. Being able to customize your in game room with photos you can take yourself and hang is a nice bonus touch especially as you always begin and end the day in that space. I feel the game is definitely worth playing as it is a lot of fun. ... show more

  • A well balanced game!
I am about 40 hours in and am having a lot of fun! A lot of effort was lovingly put into this game! Especially with Scarlet witch and her back story. Highly recommend!

  • This is a glorified app. Buggy and painfully slow gameplay.
I can’t believe I preordered this. It has legit gen 1 iPad graphics and really does also feel like a gen 1 iPad app. I wish I could return it. Absolutely awful. Carrot and stick gameplay keeps you playing even though you aren’t really enjoying it (like most phone apps do now). This is embarrassing for the Marvel franchise for a next-gen console game. ... show more

  • Three game genres mashed together make for a fun, addictive Marvel superhero story.
Here's a mini-review I posted to social media: Firaxis Games combined three very different game genres to make Midnight Suns. Foremost is the card/strategy combat that provides for a good amount of variety, tactics, and playing different heroes' skills off each other. Between each main or side combat mission (you do one each in-game day, and side missions are mostly random), you hang out with other heroes. (By the way, you're "The Hunter", a hero you create for yourself at the start.) Hanging out means one-on-one events with a Persona-style friendship system, gift-giving, short chats, group/club events and more. That's also when you upgrade the base and improve each hero's deck. Lastly, there's a big exploration aspect with collectibles and quests but I completed it all in Act 1. Not perfect, but addictive and fun. Loved it. ... show more
