I am absolutely thrilled with my MARENA SFBHS Stage 1 Short Length Girdle with High-Back and Hook-and-eye Front Closure – Tummy Control. This surgery girdle has truly been a game-changer in my recovery process. First and foremost, the high-back design provides excellent support and compression to my entire back area. It has helped alleviate any discomfort or pain that I was experiencing post-surgery, allowing me to move around more freely and comfortably. The added support has also improved my posture, which is an added bonus. The hook-and-eye front closure is incredibly convenient and easy to use. Unlike other girdles I have tried in the past, I don't have to struggle to put it on or take it off. Tried atleast 10 different brands after TT, Marena was my least favorite. I tried $200+ versions to $20 versions. For Marena I ordered the XS and IMO still was not enough compression and I would say I am more of a S or M size. The legs were very tight at the opening and very long and the arms cut into underarm area due to the straps being in an awkward location like other reviewers mentioned. I did really like the feel of the material and the large crotch opening. I used it more as a sleeping garment so got some use out of it. I found that garments that have the eyelet’s are better for compression than the pull on versions. Of all the brands I tried I liked the gotoly brand on Amazon ($20) bc the price was good and I could buy multiple versions to get me through the 6months I needed post surgery. I went from XL to XS over my 6month recovery period so finding something affordable and comfortable was key.

I wanted to love this product. First, it arrived with the seal on top broken, which made me suspect that it had been tried on. Since I purchased this as a medical compression garment for post-surgery use, this made me uncomfortable. I did try it on, and the material was amazing—so soft, with the perfect amount of compression. Unfortunately, if you are taller than 5'6" (I'm 5'8"), this will be too short for you, and the straps will dig into your shoulders, causing discomfort over time. If you're on the shorter side, you'll likely love this garment. Unfortunately, I will have to return it. Update: I ordered a Large (previously a Medium) hoping that the straps would be longer and the new straps would fit better. Unfortunately, there is no difference, and the straps are still too short. I'm so disappointed because this is by far the best quality and softest garment with perfect compression, but the straps literally cut off circulation to my arms and cause pain.

Debated about which style/brand to purchase after having a tummy tuck, I finally decided on this item. I didn’t like that I wasn’t able to try on but I also understand with all of the returned and worn items I’ve received from other stores. As far as sizing I purchased a large, a medium would have also fit if I stuffed myself in it with max compression, before a TT. A week out of surgery I could have gotten a medium but with all of the swelling the first week a medium would have not been comfortable at all. The clasps have several rows so you are able to tighten a few times if needed. As far as using the restroom with this style, perfect!

It's a great faja with a really practical design. I ordered this for my tummy tuck recovery. My one complaint is that the size chart feels off to me. I'm a size 6-8 with a 29 inch waist and I ordered a medium which is the size I would typically order anywhere, and it is also the size recommended based on my waist size per the chart. The garment is definitely too roomy. I had to order a different faja for proper compression. It's irritating because these are very expensive. I would size down personally. Ultimately, I ordered a smaller faja from a different brand that was a third of the price and it works just as well so I'm not sure you need to drop this kind of money given that the sizing is unreliable anyway. If I could go back I'd just order the cheaper brand.

I found this to be the most valuable thing I bought after liposuction, tummy tuck and breast augmentation. Do measure yourself as the sizing is not “off the shelf” sizing. These do not stretch out after continuous use like a few other brands I tried. They maintain their shape. The benefit of having the open bottom should not be overlooked. The shorts style also keeps the item from riding up. So yes it is expensive and yes you may be required to buy more than one as the swelling goes down but wear a binder for 5 days straight and you will be reaching for one of these too. So much more comfortable.
