This set (for the 2") was $38 which is about 1/3 of what the same set (in the 1") cost in a local store. (Checked same day) Crazy good price for the curl bar, dumbbells and clips for all three. A few years after giving all of my gym and lifting things away, it's time to rebuild the set and it's pretty thrilling to find this part of the set at such a great price! Starting a gym from square one adds up. If you are just starting your set, this is a great start. Or if you want to add to your set, on a budget. Expected bar to be bent based on reviews, very bad quality. Opened the box and everything looked brand new and not bent at all. Bar did feel a bit cheap at first but for $38 you cannot complain. This was a steal for how expensive other bars are and it even comes with extra stuff.

They're okay. All the bars are really tubes so, hollow. Because of their size however it shouldn't be an issue as I dont believe you can load enough weight on them to cause damage, unless you max plates and set it on some kind of metal holder which may bend it and ruin its structural integrity. The single ones should be no problem its really the main one that could have this issue. If you're setting them on the ground or anywhere where the plates are making contact on the surface instead of the bar this shouldn't be an issue. The clips are poorly made, appears the metal isn't homogenous so it bends incorrectly when you squeeze the clips to put them in or take them out but with a bit of wiggling they go on and come off. The bar is a bit short so it's great for anyone with narrow shoulders and women. I myself am only 5'9" and have about medium set shoulders and can use it but only near the end and can't take advantage of the bends for different muscle groups, luckily I had another one already and mostly bought it for the singles and the clips for other bars I own. Good starter, good for women not planning on bulking, good for smaller guys and teens as well. ... show more

So the curl bar arrived today and it had a weird smell. Even after wiping it down with Clorox wipes, a nice smelling kitchen spray and another antibaterial spray the smell is still lingering. Also the bar is hollow which surprised me since I don't believe it was in the product description. All in all it was good value for money. I only have 2 x 10lb weight plates on there. I don't know how much weight it can really take but since it is hollow, i don't want to take a chance on the bar falling apart mid work out and smashing my foot. Edit: it has been a few days and I've totally changed my mind. It is a great deal if you get it. I have found it is quite sturdy but I plan to use no more than 60 lbs on it since it use it for upper body only. I'm barely at 36 lbs now. Also if you make a slurry with baking powder and vinegar, rub it on the metal bar and the 2 handles and then wash with dish soap the smell is gone! Since it is hollow I may try to put sand into the handles as additional weight and to make it more sturdy but making sure it will not go above the 100 lb max. Also I don't have enough plates to use the dumbbell handles but I'm sure I will add to my home gym at some time. I have other weights I can use anyway. ... show more

These are very lightweight. Supposedly 50lbs on dumbbells and 100 for curl(haven't tested). Which I mean a beginner/intermediate could get away with. The thing that kills this product is the clips can't even hold a 10lb weight in place if held perpendicular to the ground. Very sad I'll have to buy real clips from a good vendor. ... show more
