I just received this Duck Head tire mount/dismount adapter. I put it together, here's my take on this heavy duty adapter: first, I was going to build my own adapter until I seen this one. It would have cost me more in time and material. I was a little hesitant reading the sole review but took my chances since I could have made the modification mentioned in the review; this is a heavy duty unit that should last as longer than the tire changer! The only thing I would have done to make this adapter perfect is using larger locking nuts and bolts could have been made with 3/8" over size nuts and bolts, the 5/16" nuts and bolts are good enough though... In my process of preparing to build my own adapter I pre-ordered a Qiilu tire changer Duck Head mount. It is the same one used on this unit. It does come with a pipe connection adapter that you don't need. I know there are a few other duck heads that are cheaper but not sure if they will fit this unit. All in all I am perfectly happy with this purchase. I highly recommend this adapter and have 10 tires waiting for me to use. I did use the tire changer without this and it does work as is, this will just do a faster, cleaner and better job... Buy with confidence!!!

The rim contact side of the duckhead has raised ridges to protect the rims from making contact with the bolts, where one of those ridges was not fully formed, as though the injection mold did not have enough nylon plastic to fill out the mold. So, to avoid scratched rims, I recessed the head of the bolts into the nylon plastic, to teraform it. With that modification, now there is no concern of scratching the finish on my alloy rims. This version duplicates the location of the hold down shaft bolts to the side (like Lucid's) so there is no longer interference with the vertical adjustment pipe. There is interferece with using a tire iron pry bar, to pull the edge of the tire up onto the Duckhead, where that lock down bolt on the side has to be removed to press the pry down level to the face of the rim, as that lockdown bolt an dprotruding handle block a pry bar. A noticeable problem is that the Welds of both nuts for the lock down shaft bolts have a welders blow thru hole on one, and each nut has only 3 small tack welds and there was weld splatter. For those reasons, it gets only 3 Stars. The paint on the round spin pipe was rough and you can see through the paint. If only someone cared about the quality of work they do, I can see this being an easy 5 stars, but they didn't.

The adaptor for the manual tire changer works as it should and will get the job done. As for the screw levers stuck in the way of tightening down, the black levers are spring loaded so all you have to do is pull the lever up and it turns freely on the bolt let back down on bolt and turn to tighten or loosen. The only thing I had to do is re-weld a nut back on to adaptor which was my fault it broke but the nut should be welded all the way around and I had to grind some burs off the bottom of pipe to fit over the piece that screws on the tire changer, no big deal. Would I buy again. Yes, it's durible and if you know how to use it, it's great.

UPDATE: The Duck Head Cracked on first use. and I replaced it with a Hunter Duck Head, which ( DID NOT FIT ) into the swingarm. if you look at the photos you will see where the Duck Head broke, and you can see that the Hunter Duck Head bolts hols to NOT line up. so now I can not find a Druck Head that fits. Ok, so I just received my EXODIOS Manual Tire Changer, took it out of the box, and tried to assemble it. the first thing that I noticed was that the round arm when placed through the swing arm square bracket then you ( CANNOT ) tighten the Bolt with the lever on it. The bolt with the lever on it stops in the center of the round hole so that you ( CANNOT ) place the round pipe through the hole. or if you put the round pipe through the round hole first, then you cannot tighten the bolt with the lever on it. they should have placed the welded nut on the backside. Don't take my word for it, just look at the photo.
