I bought a 2013 Audi A3 TDI (2.0L CBEA engine) a while back and I'm on about my third oil change. So far I've used these Mann oil filters without any issue, since they are supposedly OEM. I have had some reservation as they are cellulose and not synthetic fiber, which is what is usually recommended when using a full synthetic oil (VW 507.00 spec oil for this vehicle is only offered in 100% synthetic formulations). I've also seen reviews of some paper filters collapsing after a while, which had me concerned. From some of my reading it seems like they only create paper filters because it's a diesel, but I don't fully understand why. I have been a big fan of Wix for a while, and decided to buy their comparable filter. There are some minor differences, but the biggest one is the end caps. It's still paper, but the paper media is firmly stuck into the plastic end caps instead of glued to more paper. It does feel more taught, and gives me some piece of mind that it won't collapse if I don't change it for a longer interval. The Mann filter has about 10 more pleats (77 on the Mann vs 67 on Wix), and both seem to be well made with high quality filter media. I've not had any issues with the Mann filter, but I'm making the switch out of caution, and will report back if I find and reason to.

Does what it's suppose to do. I've been using MANN filters with VW/Audi for about 10 years now. No issues. Simple DIY service - unscrew canister cap, remove/replace filter. Viola! And on a related note, with regards to a "Low Ash" oil for TDI, I would highly recommend using Renewable Lubricants 85343 Bio SynXtra HD Plus Super High Performance Motor Oil SAE 5W40 Low Ash, 1 Gallon as well as their Renewable Lubricants Bio-Power Summer Diesel Fuel Conditioner, 1 qt Bottle ~ Parts Note: for Volkswagen Jetta TDI on the A5 chassis as well as the MkVI Golf TDI. This oil filter will fit the 2005-2006 Jetta TDI with the BRM engine as well as the new 2009+ VW Clean Diesel TDI, 2.0L, engine codes CBEA and CJAA. This product fits the following vehicles: Audi A3 TDI (8P) w/ 2.0L CJAA Engine (2009-2013) Volkswagen Golf TDI MkVI w/ 2.0 CJAA engine (2010-2013) Jetta TDI MkV (A5 chassis) w/ 1.9 BRM engine (2005-2006) Jetta TDI MkV (A5 chassis) w/ 2.0 CBEA/CJAA engine (2009-2010) Jetta TDI MkVI w/ 2.0 CJAA engine (2011-2013) Sportwagen TDI w/ 2.0L CBEA/CJAA Engine (2009-2013)

Perfect OEM filter for the 2005.5/2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. My suggestion is once you take the old unit out and put this new filter in, make sure to soak the filter with oil by other pouring some on there and rotating it that way it’s covered and you’re not dry starting it per se. Perfect fitment & price. Only oil filter I’ll use in my Jetta TDI.

I’ve always been a fan of MANN filters. Good quality and reasonable price and usually made in Germany. This particular filter fit in my 2008 VW Passat 3.6L 4motion perfectly. I can assume it would fit in most VW 3.6’s from the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. I’m not a mechanic so do your own research. :)

Purchase this along with Mann-Filter C 35 154 Air Filter for my service intervals on my 2012 VW Jetta TDI. As with the air filter this seems to be identical to the OEM filter which was dealer installed that I removed. Build quality is high, it has a good number of pleats for good surface area and the filter media seems pretty good. As with the air filter, I generally try to find a good quality filter rather than trying to save a few bucks. Good filters can save you quite a bit down the road in lost life and performance so well worth the few extra dollars now. The cost is still pretty minor so well worth getting what appears to be OEM just not branded VW.

I use the complete Mann filter line and have almost always been satisfied. I have received this HU/719/7 numerous times and once, after installing it, found one of the little plastic locating tabs in the bottom of the box. 10K miles later it seemed to have remained in its proper position in the filter housing... good thing.

Purchased with the Liqui Moly 3701 5W-40 Top Tec 4100 synthetic oil to change the oil in my 2006 VW Jetta TDI. Have used this brand in the past. Looks a little different than the VW branded one but performs perfectly. Great deal and love the convenience of having delivered to my door with Prime. Arrived in perfect condition.
