Description

The Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion reciprocating saw kit combines cutting speed with convenience features for faster, more efficient cutting. It's powered by the industry’s fastest-charging 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, allowing users to remain in one battery platform and use the same fast-charging 18V batteries on the XRJ04T As they use across the Makita 18V LXT cordless tool line-up. The XRJ04T is equipped with efficiency features for faster cutting. The long 1-1/4” stroke length increases cutting efficiency, and the refined crank mechanism design minimizes blade deflection and reduces vibration. Convenience features include a large two-finger variable speed trigger, electric brake, and “tool-less” blade Change for faster blade installation and removal. It's part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star protection Computer controls. Star protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over- discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the Star symbol on the battery indicating Star protection inside.

  • Cuts Like Butter, No Complaints
Style: Bare Tool Pattern Name: Saw
This saw is an excellent CHOICE for anyone looking for a reliable and powerful CORDLESS reciprocating saw. It's got plenty of power behind it - i can easily cut through some thick branches with ease (like those pesky ones that just won't fit in the compost without being chopped up). The variable speed trigger lets you control the cutting speed, which is great for different types of material and tasks. One thing I really like about this saw is how compact it is. It's easy to hold and maneuver around branches or whatever else you need to cut (i once used it to cut through a metal pole too - worked like a charm). The tool-less blade change system is also a nice touch, making it quick and easy to swap out blades when needed. Overall, I'm very happy with this saw and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality cordless reciprocating saw (plus it matches my other Makita tools, so that's always a bonus). ... show more

  • Solid Upgrade to Makita – Sturdier and More Reliable Battery Options
Style: Bare Tool Pattern Name: Saw
Like with my other tools, the main reason I switched from Black & Decker to Makita was the frustrating battery situation with Black & Decker. Their tools are fine for home use, but finding reliable batteries has become too much of a hassle. With Makita, battery availability—both OEM and knockoff—has been much better, which was a big factor in my decision. As for the Makita reciprocating saw itself, it definitely feels sturdier and seems to have more power compared to my old Black & Decker. There’s a noticeable difference in build quality; the Makita feels durable and solid in hand. I’ve dropped it on the grass a few times, and it has that tough, well-built feel like it can take a beating and keep going. I didn’t use the blade that came with it, as I already had other reciprocating saw blades, so I can’t really comment on the stock blade quality. But with the right blade, it handles yard work and soft metals just fine. Overall, I’m glad I made the switch, but I wouldn’t say it blows the Black & Decker away when it comes to light tasks like yard work or cutting soft metals. The Black & Decker still got the job done, but with the better battery options and the Makita's added durability and power, I’m happy I upgraded. ... show more

  • Great tool, durable and powerful
Style: Bare Tool Pattern Name: Saw
I've used this to cut down 2 fences and cut down 4 small trees. Feels durable and is still rocking. It's cheaper than brushless and I like that. Also, the quick release for the blades is super helpful.
