The Makita 12V CXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 10 oz. Caulk and Adhesive Gun (model GC01ZA) is a versatile, powerful and lightweight solution for dispensing large amounts of caulk and adhesives. The GC01ZA delivers a full 1,100 lbs. of dispensing force for the highest viscosity adhesives and sealants. It features a 5-speed dial (0-66 IPM) and variable speed trigger that optimizes flow rate. The 360-degree rotatable cartridge holder fits 10 oz. and 300 ml cartridges. Added features include an overload-indicator light to minimize breakage of sealant cartridges, L.E.D. light, and drip-reduction feature that automatically relieves pressure on the material when the trigger is released to prevent unintentional dispensing. For longer run time, 12V max CXT cordless tools are also compatible with the 12V max CXT Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah battery (BL1041B, sold separately). 12V max CXT Lithium-Ion batteries are engineered with a Battery Protection Circuit that protects against overloading, over- discharging and over-heating. It’s part of the expanding 12V max CXT series, combining performance with superior ergonomics in a compact size.

Awesome, but expensive. Much lighter than the 18v version. Should be smaller than the 18v version. Saves your hands from fatigue, now your arm will be tired from the weight. Overall good tool. Needs to be smaller & lighter....

This Makita caulk gun takes the work out of caulking. No more sore hands. It is adjustable for the flow, and backs itself off when the trigger is released. Be aware this unit comes without a battery charger of a battery. You have to buy those separately, making the cost much higher than you might have planned. The battery that comes with the additional cost "starter unit" is only 2 amp hours. While the additional batteries you can buy for this 12 volt unit are all 4 amp hours. However this little starter battery seems to have good capacity. When coming back to an old tube, sometimes you cannot put enough pressure to use it and get the dried caulk out. This one will do it. I highly recommend this tool for anyone who has a lot of caulking to do. ... show more

I know the tool refers to the support 12V battery but I want to know if this tool will work with Makita 18V as well. I have a couple of 18V that made from Makita from other Makita tools, and I just want to save cost by not buying additional 12V battery for this caulk gun if they all work together.

This product was advertised as new but was either used or an open box return. Lots of missing parts, and unusable on the only day I had free in three weeks to do the work. Very frustrating.

    • For those of us who cannot hand crank anymore....
Caulking. Never liked doing it when I was younger, and like it even less now. And now that arthritis is becoming a factor, well... Now, most folks would tell you that 12v systems are old and useless, and that I should be looking at 18 or higher, lugging around a MASSIVE battery pack while you work seems counter productive to me. My little cxt system has worked just as well as the bigger tools, and in some cases beyond because of the smaller form factor. What is better, there is an entire LINE of tools centered around the one battery, and this is the main caveat to the caulking gun in question. Now, does it caulk? Duh, obvs! But this thing has some SERIOUS torque, and if you wanted to, you could probably use this as a climbing assist, or possibly a jack. And that is only part of it. The speed of application can be dialed down to near nothing coming out, to running out monster beads that will make you have to jog to keep up. And with the purchase of the 29 oz tube holder and ram, you can use about any single tube caulk or adhesive that is on the market. I will write an update once I have run some sufficient projects through this thing. Now the downside. It is HEAVY! And that is without a battery OR a tube of schmoo in the gun. If you are worried your hands and arms wont get their workout, be at ease, because the weight of this beast will give you a run for your money. So while you are not squeezing the daylights out of a standard gun, your fingers will like the fact that they are no longer giving you aches and pains from a day of squeezing a caulking gun. ... show more
