Description

The 18V X2 LXT® Cooler/Warmer Box is ideal for use on the job site or on the road. The cooler has five cooling modes capable of holding constant temperatures of 0°F, 15°F, 30°F, 40°F, and 50°F, while also having two warming modes capable of 130°F and 140°F. It operates using one 18V LXT® battery with the option to insert one additional battery for extended run time (batteries not included). It can also operate from a 12V/24V vehicle plug, or corded AC power. There is a large, easy-to-read L.ED. display allows you to check the temperature and remaining battery time. For added convenience, it has a USB charging port to provide power to common devices like phones and tablets. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

While sweating it out in the hot summer sun and putting all my cordless Makita tools through their paces a fellow worker asked about my one of a kind new Makita cooler. “So, is it worth every penny?” I had happened to mention how many pennys that was. And so I had to admit that no, I can’t say that it is. So many of those old pennies just had to accept the great sacrifice that was their fate. But is it cool? Damn right it is! Frigid cool! An oasis in a desert of baked overworked good ol’ boys and gals. One commented that I could have bought a full sized fridge for that cost. Sure, but one that would run on 18v Makita batteries? Put its powers to the test on an adventure: day long mid summer bike ride. The cooler easily found room to travel along to the trailhead. It then waited patiently as the car reached temps well over 100 degrees F. Plugging into DC outlet could mean no ride home. But giving the cooler the simple boost of two 18v batteries was enough. After 15 hours the cooler was at 54 degrees. Cold drinks never tasted so good! “Worth it” is all relative… ... show more

Ben using this every dayall summer works pretty good but will definitely go though some battery’s in the heat works a lot better in the shade Also smaller than I had thought it would be But still holds a fair amount because you don’t have to put ice Will pay for itself in what I was spending in ice Also glad it has the dc 12v plug use it a lot in the back seat of my truck ... show more

    • Great cooler. Battery life is a bit disappointing on hot days
Great cooler when used with the ac adapter or car adapter. If you use the batterys on a hot day which I do from time to time on the job site I'll burn thru 4 5.0 batterys in a typical 8hr day in the hot sun.

    • One great cooler or a better word would be fridge.
The price was a tad bit high but the quality and convenience were exceptional. I use this for trips and groceries. It's great for keeping foods frozen without having to hurry home when it's hot outside.

Is definitely a little expensive, BUT it is 100% worth the money. Literally a portable freezer, fridge, or even a slow heating "oven".
