I really like the design of this extruder. The handle is nice and it’s easy to disassemble to clean. However, I can only give it 3 stars because the o-ring on the gasket literally fell apart after one session (extruded 3 clay chunks about the full length of the extruder) and it only comes with 2 replacements. Also, the metal threading on the end of the extruder has a sharp piece sticking out that sliced my thumb while cleaning the threads. ... show more

wonderful versatility with added extra pieces. My discs from old extruder fit this one as well. Bought the attachment to run it with my drill but the ergometric handle is so nice that I have not used it yet. So much easier to use than my other one. I haven't quite figured out how to use all of the edges yet. Wonderful what a difference a few changes over a standard model can make BUY THIS ONE ... show more

After about 6 uses, the end of the plunger broke off. It’s attached by a screw, but could not be screwed back in. Amazon has sent a replacement, we’ll see if this was just a dud. Amazon sent the replacement quickly, and it has worked like a charm ever since. I updated it to 5 stars, it’s a great extruder. ... show more

Edited: I called up makin and the guy on the phone was super helpful. Still newrly impossible to open, so I took off a star for that? But he said they were aware of this issue and are working to find a better solution. The actual tool itself works well. I wish they came up with a drill bit to do the turning. I can't figure out how to get the storage container open? There is this black plastic thing through the hole - I presume to keep the container shut- but it won't come off and I can't open the container. I may need to take a hammer to the plastic cover and break it open! ... show more

This works so much easier than the push type extruders. Easy to clean and comes in a cool case with compartments to hold accessories.

I cannot believe how incredible this product is for fondant! The case is helpful with all of the little pieces, and I love that twisting crank feature. It helps everything gradually push through the dies and keeps everything pristine. I believe this model compared to the other one just like it (but cheaper) does not have the same twisting feature so that you can crank it. The cranking is a must! LOVE this. Highly recommend.
