The media could not be loaded. This item has exceeded my expectations. So much more fun and value than the big "name brand" block building brand. The item came in a handy hard plastic storage box. Nice to keep everything together and organized for storage. Inside, there is an instruction manual that covers how the sensors work, the motor, and instructions to build many items/objects. However, you can also download the app - which has a ton of items to build, with step by step on screen instructions. It is impressive how many different items you can build with this one kit. The motor and sensor features are a lot of fun, and teach a lot of good logic skills. There are a few different sensor/setting options - controlled by the switches on the sensors and the motor. Hard to explain, but for example: If you have the infrared sensor installed, and have the switch set one way, the motor will go forward until an object is detected. If the same sensor is installed with the switch reversed, the motor will go reverse if a object is detected. In addition to the infrared sensor, there is a light (photovoltaic) sensor that can be used. The other cool thing is the gear and energy transfer systems. The assembly reminds me of a real car - including the driveshaft, gearing, etc. In summary, the item comes with one main "motor". No matter what you build, you can attach the sensors to the motor. With a wide variety of pieces included, the kit allows you to build a number of objects - just not at once, as you have the single motor to work with.     • Good for Younger Kids
This set is great for a younger kid starting to get into building more complicated set. The instructions are fairly easy to follow. There are plenty of interesting projects to choose from. One down side is that there are only enough pieces to complete one project at a time. For example in the video on the product page you wouldn’t be able to build both the car and the lifting gate at the same time without a second set. My kids are 4 and 5 years old and this set is easy enough for them to build most of it on their own with minor help for more difficult stages. My nephew loved getting this for his birthday. He's 9 and really good with Legos and was looking for something with a bit more challenge. This set came with great instructions and was fun to build. The sensors worked to prevent the vehicle from bumping into the walls. It's also cool to have a motor that you can add onto other Lego sets. Great stuff! ... show more

    • A bit complicated
My 8 year old was disappointed in herself that she needed help with the motorized parts. She's usually very good with complicated lego sets so I'm not sure what was different about this set but she definitely played with this set for a long time once completed.

    • Fun Stem Toy
This kit is alot of fun so far. We will be using it as part of our summer schooling program. It comes with a bunch of pieces and seems to work very well so far. Lots of project to do! My son loves it so far after playing with it for a couple hours after it arrived.

My boys really enjoyed creating this robot! It was just hard enough without being to hard. Came with all pieces and was straightforward on how to assemble. The directions where clear and easy to understand. The end result was super cute! We really enjoyed it. would make a great gift.
