Okay so I wanted to wait until I put this thing together and started using it before I wrote an honest review about it. First off, I have a small garage which I was renovating and decided to turn into a home gym. I wanted a small rack, like the PRX ones that could fold away and allow me to use the space more when I'm not working out, but my ceiling is too low for the model I wanted. That being said, I went down the rabbit hole of finding a smith machine. This unit kept popping up, so I did some comparisons online and decided to pull the trigger on it (vs. a very similar one on Amazon). Let's start with the goods: The rack comes in a 4 boxes that are clearly labeled - they may not deliver at the same time, but you'll get the tracking for each one. The boxes come with instructions and hardware, and if you've ever put IKEA furniture together, it shouldn't be too hard to build this within a few hours. The kit comes ready to go - just add a bench, an extra barbell and some weights and you'll be able to use this bad boy right away! Running the cables appeared intimidating at first, but once you follow the instructions, you'll realize they're a breeze to run! The machine is great for what I need and offers a lot of value for the price! I love that you can use it to bench press, squat, dead lift, and do several pulley exercises for back, shoulder, biceps, triceps and core. Now onto some of the shortcomings: The frame is pretty sturdy, but the steel they used is not the thickest out there, so at times, it could feel a bit flimsy. The frame being roughly 2x3" (with the wider side facing in) makes it hard for some other attachments to work the way you'd want them to. The machine comes with 4 weight holder handles in the back of it, one of them broke off as soon as I put a 45lb plate on it... I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately sent me a replacement one. The good thing is I decided to not use them because I wanted the back of the machine to sit closer to the wall (being in a small garage and all). I'm going to buy some wall mounted weight holders instead so I can mount my plates in the sides. The sliders for the rear pulley weight stack are smooth and quiet, but the sliders for the integrated barbell can be a bit noisy as you're doing chest or shoulder presses - not a huge deal, but worth mentioning! All in all, I would definitely recommend this machine if you're building a home gym on a budget and looking for a functional and reliable machine. I can see this things lasting year and not give me any trouble whatsoever! It offers a lot for the money and comes with some great attachments to get you going! This power cage is well designed and big! Make sure to account for extra space around the back to access the plate storage. I ordered the one with with all the weights, accessories and bench. Note that it will be a lot of big and heavy boxes so perhaps think about tipping or leaving your delivery guy a treat or something 😉 p.s. support is great but back and forth communication takes a whole day for responses I think there might be a 12hr timezone difference. ... show more

So first of all I think its important to note I'm a 6'3" 250lb male, so a pretty big guy. The rack is a very good home gym with lots of functionality. I really like that the smith machine is a true 45lb resistance, and moves smoothly. The cables are also solid and I've not had any issue in the first month with any cable slack. The accessories are all nice, great foot pad to be able to do rows, and the landmine is perfect for core and shoulder workouts. Rare to see landmines IMO. The draw backs : -The cage is a little shorter than I expected. So doing pull ups and lat pull downs requires a little creativity but definitely doable. -The smith machine pegs that the cables also use need one more peg at the bottom. The lowest peg is almost 6" off the ground. So its a little short for curls and definitely high when doing something like kick backs. -The dual pulley wheel at the working end of the cables limits the range of the exercise. The stop ball has to roll off the bottom pulley to get to a point where you have full resistance. Simply put, the first 2 inches of the movement are easier than the rest of the movement. At my height it makes tricep extensions a little shorter ROM. -Finally the cage is a little narrower than I expected. Not the worst thing, helps with form. But makes shoulder work a little tight so you don't hit your elbows on the smith machine pegs. Overall I would recommend the machine to anyone who asked. Just some things I've noticed after a month of use. Most coming from my height. So check the dimensions and make sure they work for you. One last note, customer service is outstanding. One of the smith machine end caps broke and they replaced it within a week for free. ... show more

My kids and I love it. No time for gym, this takes the place of most excercises I do. Came with a faulty part, they did not have extras, after a few msgs back and forth, instead of waiting for new parts they agreed to open another gym and take part out, mailed it right out with tracking #!!

Ordered this. I put it together pretty quick. Get a battery powered impact and a wrench. It took about an hour. Cable system is smooth and can lift heavy weights no problem. I put the max weight on and no issues. The smith bar is a little narrow so its not like the heavy duty ones at the gym. But still no issues doing incline or shoulder press. Squats are good and smooth with heavier weights. Over all it could be a bit wider and a little taller for the pull up bar and the cable to pull down. But it works fine and you can adjust. I would recommend putting it on a platform about a foot tall. This way the bench and the weight catch if you fail line up. Overall good product for the money. Great home gym set up. When I received it shipping had bent a holder of a pulley and broke the pulley. They shipped out a new part with in a few days. Got it put together and worked great ... show more

This is a decent smith machine squat rack for home training. Assembly was easy and the video instructions were helpful to follow. I’ve been using this for months now and it’s still holding strong. There are some minor design flaws I’ve noticed that could be fixed in a next generation version of this. The first, the pins at the very top point need to be unscrewed because the cable attachments cannot slide on like the others. The reason this happens is that the edge of the pull-up bar is too close to the pin. If the manufacturer added a little room between the pull up bar and top pin this would make transitioning to the top pin much easier. Instead every time you need the cable adjusted to the highest point, you need to unscrew the pin. It’s a minor annoyance and can be improved. The second issue is the the cables will twist from time to time, it’s going to happen, even if the cables are tight. You may spend a little time untwisting them. I’m usually able to correct this by adjusting one side of the cables to a new position. Overall, worth the investment, the smith machine works well and I have had no issue using it. The rack is sturdy, the pins that hold the weight are sturdy, the Olympic bar holder works well, the landline attachment is very useful. If you’re coming from just have some dumbbells in your home gym to this, it’s certainly and upgrade. ... show more

So I purchased the Major Lutie Smith machine about a month & half ago. This is my set up right now. Plan on expanding in future. I use it as well as my teenage sons and wife. We are all happy with it and it gets used everyday at least once. It was easy to assemble with a small ratchet set and a Cresent wrench. Took a few hrs 3 or 4. There is an online assembly video and they send a booklet with it. Everything was shipped there and have not needed to contact customer service about anything. Me & the boys have been putting some decent weights 100, 200 & 300 pounds of weights on bars and its holding up well. Plenty of ways to use it and work all the different muscle groups. I greased the poles and check nuts & bolts periodically. Like anything else take good care of it and it will last. Its not gym professional equipment but then again that stuff costs at least $5,000+ more too. So this is definitely worth the price in my eyes. I would buy again. I am very pleased with the quality! At first it looked like I was going to have a hard time putting it together but it was very simple. All the nuts and bolts came in the packages with labels as to which are for steps 1-10. Everything fit like as they should. It was like putting together a lego set. Adjusting the cables was intimidating at first but the instructions were straight forward which made it a breeze. I am enjoying my in home work outs a lot and it fit just right in my game room. It came with all the handles and extra items for the cables so I don’t have to purchase anything else to start using them which was very nice! I would definitely recommend this ML smith machine! it’s a 10/10. It came in 4 separate boxes which arrived 2-3 days apart and the assembly took no more than 3 hours on my own. It does recommend to have 2-3 people build it but it’s a fairly simple assembly. If you want to do it in 1-2 hours then maybe you will require more than 1 person. Overall it’s one of the best Amazon purchases I’ve made! Its a great options for those looking to start an at home gym! ... show more
