These doe actually have some hold to them. I will warn that if you have a lot of tummy it will give a little bit of muffin top. It works great if I have skinny jeans and a looser or flowy top. If I wanted to wear a tighter shirt I’d need to wear something that comes up to the bra line to keep things smooth. ... show more

These definitely run small. For reference, I’m 5’2” and 140lbs. I wear a size 8 in all my bottoms and size small/medium in shirts and dresses and I ordered a size medium, following the size chart provided, and they’re extremely tight and way too small. Here's the thing: you have to position the wide elastic band directly over your lower ab, then hike the back up. To keep this in place I use Hollywood Liquid Fashion Tape. I roll it over my lower abs, especially where I want to cinch up hanging skin, then lift the band up into position

I got these just for light support with dress pants and leggings and that’s what they provide- light tummy control support. If the band was any tighter it would just give you muffin top. They’re great if you just have a tiny bit of bellow the belly button mom pouch.

I should have listened to Amazon and got the size they recommended. I got a medium and had to return it. I wanted to be more snatched but it created a muffin top at the top of my butt. I’m in-between a 8/10 or M/L - 5’1 and 150 lbs. I should have went with a L. I plan to repurchase a larger size.

    • Very light shapewear for smoothing, not much bulge control

I discovered the wonders of shapewear for a couple of years after losing a lot of weight because even though the fat is gone, there is an abundance of loose skin that needs taming above the waist of my jeans. I'm a thin (so nice to say that) busty lady and I can no longer stand to wear bras so the shapewear cami was the answer to my prayers. For reference I am 5'3", 117 lbs, 36DD bust and wear a size small in tops. I ordered this in both medium and small sizes because shapewear tends to run small even when made by the same manufacturer. I have Maidenform Flexees tank top style cami in size large that fits smaller the size small in this Maidenform Women's Cover Your Bases SmoothTec Shaping Camisole. They run large and are very long. The Medium is way too big and has no effect on my shape. It ends well below my rear end and almost mid-thigh. I wish these were available in size x-small because the small is borderline large. This camisole is very long and could be worn for light smoothing with dresses and skirts. It has a rubberized strip at the bottom to hold it in place, but unless you are wearing something very tight over it I can't guarantee it won't roll-up. So far I have only worn them with jeans. The panel in front has two thin layers and you need to step into it carefully or your foot will get stuck between the layers. I've learned to hold them together when putting it on. As will all shapewear it is best to put it on from the bottom instead of over your head. This is very lightweight and perfect for the warmer climate in which I live. It does a nice job of light smoothing and is just enough in most cases.
