The design on the outside of this mug is fine. It also does hold 12 ounces. Since it is ceramic, this is a heavy cup. I have no issue with that. I just recently picked up one other ceramic cup and that one is also claimed to be insulated. It does appear these are since there is a bulge inside the cup. However, neither of these keep my tea hot for very long. I only mention the other mug to point out the fact that this might very well be just a feature of ceramic mugs in general. I was looking at this for use with loose leaf tea. I have plenty of infusers that are separate from the cup, so that is not an issue. To check out the heat retention, I filled it with water that was 181 degrees. I installed the lid and did not open it until taking the next reading, an hour later. After one hour the water was now 120 degrees. Sorry, that is not warm enough for me. It is certainly not in the temp range of what one would consider hot, nor even very warm. When I steeped tea with water just off the boil, the outside of the mug got so hot I needed something to come between my fingers and the cup. That is a strong sign there is very little insulation going on. In terms of this being advertised as a travel mug, I have serious issues with that as well. First, the lid is not held in place with much tension, and I could see that it wouldn't take a lot of force for it to fall out. Second, and more importantly, the slider that opens up for you to drink is far from water tight. I just laid it horizontal and quite a bit of water started coming out around that slider. I never did turn it upside down to shake. If you travel with this, you better be sure to keep it vertical. If they had not advertised it as a travel mug, I would make note of this, but it wouldn't be a big deal. Sadly, this mug is not a keeper for me.

This ceramic mug is perfect for those cool fall mornings… the leaf print is so aesthetic, and great for all seasons. The ceramic is heavy, and could break fairly easily… I have actually dropped it once, but it was on our laminate wood flooring and it didn’t crack luckily. I’m certain it would chip if dropped on the sidewalk or concrete. It does keep your drinks warm for a long period of time. The lid has a slider to open and close which is nice. The lid kind of suctions and slides down to stay put and prevent spilling. Overall, this is my most favorite go-to mug in our cabinet!

The media could not be loaded. Such a shame. It really is a pretty coffee mug but the lid is awful which makes it completely unusable. The lid is super cheap. I tried everything to make it work but the slide on the lid opener is clearly defective. I looked around my cupboard to see if I could use a replacement from another mug, but none of them fit. Not Microwave Safe. Cup says Dishwasher Safe but the Lid says Hand Wash Only.

This is a really heaving cup. It's nice but because it is ceramic it will definitely break if it falls hard enough. It's dishwasher safe but you can't microwave it. I took off a star for that fact. If you drink warm liquids fast it probably wouldn't be a deal, but I'm not sure how long it will stay hot.

This is a beautiful, well-made coffee cup, I really enjoy the design on the cup. Due to it being ceramic, it is VERY heavy - or at least much heavier than my normal to-go coffee cup. Once you add coffee or another beverage, it gets even heavier. It also is very loud when I set it down on my quartz countertops - and worries me that I might scratch my countertops or break the cup. As far as the durability goes, that remains to be seen. I think this is a nice cup to keep at home, so your coffee doesn't get cold with all the distractions, but I hesitate to bring it in the car or to my job because of how heavy it is.
